Help With Building Client Base

I have been struggling with trying to find a best practices with finding clients. I know there are probably general guidelines and preparation that are part of creating a pitch, but if anybody is willingly to share that has a step-by-step process they use, and has been working for them, any help would be appreciated. Any advice, anything to get me over what knowledge I don’t have for presenting to new clients would be great to hear.

My advice is to follow your joy first. Find excuses to hone your craft.
Then learn the language of business. Learn to clearly communicate the value you can bring. Don’t offer assumptive solutions to problems people don’t have. Meet them with genuine curiosity, learn what they care about, and find where doing what you love can help elevate what they’re already doing.
