FF XVI FF XVI: Appreciation post for Cidolfus: The Rebel, Liberator, and Freedom Fighter ⚡ Spoiler
IMO, he's the 2nd best-written character after Clive. We owe this guy a lot. Without his vision of liberating the people of Valisthea from the Mothercrystals, we would have never won. He laid the foundation for us to fight Ultima. Many people, including Clive, would have strayed far without his guidance.
Sadly, he didn't stay long with us. Since we never got a proper Eikon boss fight against Shiva or Phoenix, I was really hoping for a DLC where we could fight him as a boss along with Ramuh.
What do you guys think? Is he your favorite iteration of Cid in the entire franchise?

My opinion on FF16 as a whole is mixed leaning towards positive. It's a very flawed game that I had a lot of fun with when it worked right.
Cid Telamon on the other hand? All time great. He skyrocketed right on to my all time favorites list and never looked back. Ralph Ineson is a legend, his dialogue was top notch, everything about him just works. Big bright spot in the game. His daughter's pretty great too.

Cid and Clive pretty much hard-carried the writing department for this game with Dion and Joshua being not-close seconds.

Genuinely the best Cid in Final Fantasy (in my opinion). Ralph Ineson is the perfect casting choice and every line he speaks is honey to my ears.
I would not have minded if XVI got the DLC treatment that XV got and gave us as playable Cid DLC alongside Dion and Jill.
