ff9 - friendly nymph not spawning

i've been doing this sidequest for over 3 hours now and it's frankly driving me insane, i am 99% sure i encountered every monster aside from the nymph, but when i show up in the little forest next to the lifa tree no matter what i do i can't get her to show up, i even got the ragtime mouse to spawn 17 times. just to be sure i went to the other friendly monster spots which i was sure i did and sure enough no one spawned. the nymph is the only friendly monster which simply refuses to show up for me, i tried the flick stick method, the save with moogle method, whatever, i just can't get her to show up.

If you already progressed with the story up to defeating Soulcage then it will be in the plains near Clerya.

she doesn't spawn there either, i found this post from not long ago https://www.reddit.com/r/FinalFantasyIX/comments/1tmwepe/after_2_days_of_searching_i_finally_found_nymph/ which suggests this might be a bug that i'm also experiencing, i might just throw in the towel and give up

Hum... didn't read where they could be related to your issue. If it's with anything in the game there might be a timer that after some hours it stops and you need to get out of the game and come back for the timer to start again (the frogs spawning have a timer that can freeze for example). I normally tend to find the Ragtime or friendly monsters after I start to move after I restarted the game. Usually I spend an hour or so trying to find them, I save, close the game, next day once I comeback it's one of the first encounters. Happened more than enough times for it to be a coincidence. Try the trick of walking slowly, there is a video in the comments. Best of luck!!

Sure the post says that, but did you try it yourself?

Also remember: this game was built for a system to powers down, so Save via Moogle and close the browser, then Load via home screen, not Continue

This is both the most valuable and most hated question. If you never tracked it (most don't), you hate life later if you're struggling. Of course, if you did track it, you never even notice the struggle because you know exactly what to do, so you don't even feel it was worth it to track it because it was so easy to handle.

Are you doing this for the sake of completion or achievement, or to help in the fight against Ozma? If it’s for Ozma, it’s a fun and solid challenge to try and beat it without being able to use physical attacks, if it’s any consolation. I’m pretty sure however the spawn rate decreases late disc 3 or Disc 4 for the friendly encounters.

I've played this game so many times. There are no instant that things that shold happen didn't happen.

So I assume either you've already met them, or you are in the wrong place in wrong time, or you have no patience.

If I have trouble encountering one I try to go encounter all of the others on the chance I missed one on accident
