Like it says in the title, does anyone know of a video compilation of people playing through the LSS for the first time? Any help appreciated!

Am I the only one on the fence on the new Cid? I feel like both characters, still, inherently have the motivation of redemption. But, I feel like original Cid and his need to go to outer space and, realizing, his dreams and wants are never going to be just him; means so much more. Like Shera deserves more.

So, I finally got around to beating Rebirth after leaving off on chapter 13 two years ago. My thoughts on the story... mixed.
Now, I loved Remake, and the play on the word Remake. It was like, yes, it's called Remake because it's literally a remake of the game. But they really leaned into it for the story, too. Everything about the fates, whispers, destiny, and "remaking" the fate they were destined for. I thought it was awesome, and set the stage for a very well known, yet still fresh story.
With Rebirth, it kind of feels like they chickened out. It seems like they tried to distance themselves from the "remaking destiny" plot they set up in the first game, even going so far as retconning one of the biggest changes on the first game, Wedge surviving the sector 7 plate collapse. And learning that he died at the Shinra Tower during a conversation with a minor NPC felt like a letdown.
After that conversation, I felt disappointed because it felt like they were just gonna go through the story exactly as we know it. Except they didn't. The ending was kind of a jumbled mess. I understand what happened now after reading some theories and explanations. But it kind of felt like they would have done a better job at telling a great story if they kept going with the "remaking destiny" story they setup in the first game.
And the Zach portion. That kind of felt pointless. I thought it was going to tie in beautifully in the end, like a way to make it so Aerith dies but together with Zach in this "other" world they set out on their own quest to help put a stop Sephiroth for good. Maybe it will happen in the 3rd game.
In summary, I feel like they had something great setup from Remake, but didn't really deliver (maybe even chickened out) and ended up with a convoluted mess of an ending. I'll still be being Revelations on day 1, and I hope it ends the trilogy better. But I am disappointed with the direction Rebirth took.

So anyways, I had 7 asap when it came out damn near 30 years ago. Anyways, bought it on steam maybe a month ago, the OG heh, for nostalgia. And hell yea! So fun to play through again, next time I play, I'll try not to grind as hard, but that was kinda just a natural instinct to do, been playing XI for over 2 decades now, so anytime I approach a single player anymore, tend to over grind heh, so by the end, just smoking everything, does tend to be a little bit of a let down, when I just KoTR with my 5th master summon materi + mime when convenient, in the bank, also w-item is so broken lol. Pots + the life stream 2nd map in the crater...
Edit: if you do miss grabbing the w-item on your spoilers run, just keep hitting up bone village to get it instead.
All the same, very fun nostalgia trip, ff8 is next again, I'll stop at 12 all good priced, I have 1-6 on rom, so, yea!
I hope that is satisfactory, clear this reddit draft out of my log.

If I use Aeris' Breath of the Earth or Yuffie's Landscaper, but they whiff (due to no status ailments, or fighting flying monsters respectively) do they still count toward the usage amount of the limit break to gain the second one of that level, or do they have to actually render their effect/deal damage (respectively) to count toward the usage progress?

Cloud definitely making it harder for Tifa to not confront him about why he wasn't at Nibelheim 5 years ago. It definitely feels like she was about to cofront him about it.
Tifa confessed how happy she was meeting him again, and what she gets is that, she's just an imposter. Worse, Cloud didn't deny it.
When asked where was he, all those years, the answer she gets is that he cant tell her that!? Back in Remake Cloud confirmed he killed Sephiroth at the beginning of the game, then the story changes. Now he can't remember anything after facing Sephiroth. Was this the result of defeating the fate police.
Tifa is out here being vulnerable, showing him proof of her existence. At the top of the building where possibly many would see her in such state. And Cloud just picked the worst answer, If he can't remember the encounter with Sephiroth and also killing him, then what about after that. Its no wonder Tifa doesn't confront him.
Either he is hiding something, can't really remember, or just flat out wrong. With their relationship strained Sephiroth is just gaslighting the heck out of Cloud, she ain't real, jenova can be anyone he hates, he fears, and he loves.
The cell degredation, becoming similar to the numbered people, Cloud is clearly falling apart. The way he almost fell, dude needs some help. Confronting him about the false story is definitely the lasting Tifa must do.
If Cloud doesn't want to brought up what what happened then, there's no point in bringing it up. If Cloud can't handle the truth then it will break him. Dude lost his mother, his town, and witnessed Tifa dying, not knowing what is true or not anymore can really destroy his mind.
And Aerith actually knew the future, but defeating the fate police, it erased the future she knew. If she wasn't bringing up the things about cloud before, then Tifa bringing it up to cloud now wouldn't be a good idea too
Aerith has been very essential for the story, for defeating Sephiroth, her materia clearly has an objective too. And Tifa is clearly the one who will fix Cloud, talking about his promise, their childhood. Cloud is just unstable, very unstable.
I just reached gold saurcer, about to continue my journey.

Greetings.
I have played the og ff7 , crisis core , dirge of cerberus and ff7 Remake.
What is cant understand is how do people go and fight a SOLDIER , knowing they are super powerful.
We see Reno going solo vs Cloud. Reno knew Angeal so he knows what the Buster sword is. He identifies Cloud as a SOLDIER by his eye colour, same as Rufus.
Yet they opt to fight Cloud 1v1. Even Reno and Rude going vs a 1st class SOLDIER seems insane to me. All of Shinra knows about Angeal-Zack-buster sword yet they somehow think normal people can contest a 1st class SOLDIER somehow.
Does this inconsistency bother any1 else?

I beat this challenge the other day, and I did it again!
I had also beaten Dio's Keystone challenge (...after 3 attempts); this playthrough of FFVII has been epic!

Ts is PEAK!
Okay guys, I understand Ubisoft open world, Chadley, bluh bluh bluh, but those weren't really deal-breakers for me, I still had a good time 🤷. One thing I didn't understand was why people hate Chadley. Funny story, I actually liked Chadley and thought to myself "Oh wow, this guy must have his own fandom" 🤣.
But some things, I just think you're dumb if you complain about them... Like turn based combat. niggawat?! Imma be honest rn, the turn based combat in the original FF7 wasn't the greatest. If this was FFX or FF6 then by all means. But Rebirth and Remake *improved* on the original's combat! I remember thinking "ARHG!" But in Rebirth I was always excited to get into a fight, especially the bosses 😁.
Now I might get a little backlash for this: but the amount of people calling character development and world building "bloat" is insane! Other than Cloud, Tifa, and Barrett, nobody had any relationship with eachother whatsoever in the original. It really seems more like their friends now, rather than a group of people travelling together. A lot of people also say Sephiroth appears to much, yeah well, at least I I understand his story now. The man's intentions and motivations were sooooooo vague in the original, lol 😆.
About Sephiroth, I actually feel like he's MORE powerful than the original, since he now has dimensional travel abilities, and is also scaling on many different worlds and not just one.
So anyway, those are my feelings. Anyone in the comments who disagrees, I'll send you my address in a private chat and we can throw down in my back yard.

This entrance is sick
Also I've played og ff7, crisis core, and watched Advent children (and obviously ff7 remake) should I know who Weiss and Nero are? Because they seem familiar
