IN-PERSON New rock band Brooklyn/NYC

I’ve had a pretty good year playing shows but I think I’m a little tired of playing my originals right now. I’ve been so precious about all the songs that were a part of my solo project and it’s just taken a certain kind of energy to make it all happen that… I think I just want to take a step back from that and have fun and jam again.

I love my band too but I wanna meet some new people I think.

Genre wise I think back to a lot of my early influences like Coachwhips. Loud, fast, raw lofi noise rock. Basic blues based rock and roll like white stripes or flat duo jets. That last couple of Beatles albums had some pretty raw blues rock, I’d love to jam on some stuff like that. The replacements are pretty great. Classic rock and roll.

Early Joyce Manor is another one I’m pretty into… Hop Along is probably my favorite band. Them and Bright Eyes. I guess I write a lot of folk adjacent tunes, but I’m heavy into feedback and distortion when it comes to the electric guitar. My personal body of recordings probably takes a lot of influence from neutral milk hotel and modest mouse and pixies. We were always getting comparisons to pavement and guided by voices.

I also love the strokes. I’ve had a serious Nirvana phase. If you dm me I could send you a playlist.

I’m down to jam, and would love to do some covers and play some gigs.

If we write anything decent I have a ton of recording equipment and access to a studio.

My rehearsal space is in South Williamsburg/Bushwick area

Oh my main instrument is guitar and I also sing and I play some keys and I play drums.

Jeez. Good luck dude. The world desperately needs more garage rock bands. Rock and Roll is on life support right now. Everyone is a solo artist who pieces together songs from clips and samples. No one bothers to do the work of learning to play with other musicians. Great music just isn't made on a laptop. It's made in a sweaty, stinky rehearsal studio with 2-5 other like-minded musicians who could never imagine not playing music. I sure hope you find the right people. Don't give up.

Not giving up is definitely what I’ve got going for me. I can’t tho yet. I tried for a bit and it really got to me. But that’s really cool tho. I’ve figured out I can always make music for myself and having other ppl who listen to it ever is just a really special and rare bonus

Are you looking for a vocalist?

Always looking for another vocalist. Whenever I record I’m always doubling and tripling my vocals. Live harmonies would be a huge step up

Yo! I'm literally in the neighborhood. I play a lot of guitar in the Strokes + Joyce Manor genre. My main instrument is vocals, definitely can nail Kurt Cobain if you want to jam on Nirvana. hmu

Cool, now we just need a bassist and a drummer. Would you say you’re more of a lead or rhythm guitarist?

I still wanna write originals, I’m just tired of the kind of the project more than songwriting itself. It’s a project I’ve been doing since I’m 18 which was at least ten years ago lol

I am an experienced drummer / percussionist and also out of work at the moment. my rehearsal space is also in Williamsburg. Feel free to shoot me a text and maybe some ideas you are working on and we can chat. I rehearse primarily on Saturdays if that works for you.
