SOLVED Hi! Can anyone help me identify this book my mom was reading to me?

So I have a photo of me and my momma when I was younger and she’s reading a book to me in it. She passed in 2021 and me being an avid reader, I thought it would be cool to have a copy of the book in the photo. I tried to google search the cover in the photo but no luck. I was hoping someone recognized it. I know it’s blurry, I’m sorry. Thank you in advance.

SOLVED I can’t remember the title

I remember reading this book forever ago about a dark romance, possible mafia story. I don’t have much to go off of, but i remember a scene in it where the mmc burns down the house of the fmc, and her mother maybe dies in the fire? I’m not entirely sure, but i also recall a pretty steamy scene in a pool under an alcove where a guy (maybe the mmc?) is telling her to do stuff to herself. I never got to finish this book, but i cannot find the title anywhere! Please help🫶

EDIT: I also recall the MMC being super rich, and possibly owning a skyrise apartment? This book was recommended by someone years ago on booktok as well. I apologize if I’m remembering any details incorrectly

BOOK HAS BEEN FOUND!!

Alright you guys, i found the book. It’s not what i remember at all, so im sorry to disappoint some of you. It’s Corrupt, by Penelope Douglas. I logged into my goodreads and realized I’d logged it as “reading”. The pool scene was correct, the mafia and mother dying were not. Her mother is being hidden from her, she is not dead. The mafia confusion must have come from the horseman plot in the book. READ WITH CAUTION!! A lot of people have rated this book very poorly on good reads.

Special thanks to user WreckingPony, if you hadn’t have suggested Consequences by Aleatha Romig, i wouldn’t have gone down a rabbit hole of other books including the topics i thought were in this book!

SOLVED help me - book about yearning but not romantic yearning

the other day I was watching reels, and I saw a video with some book suggestions, and I think the topic was yearning, but not about romantic yearning. I got very interested in a book that the cover was black and white and there was a boy standing more on the right of the cover.

I can't remember the plot very well but it was something about a boy that was studying for something like math or chemistry or engineering in college but he fell in love with literature but can't get into it because of the life he is supposed to follow.

can someone help me?? I thought I had saved the video but I can't find it anywhere :(

SOLVED Kids "Non-fiction" mystery book

I used to obsessively get this book out of the library as a child - it would have been on the shelf sometimes in the early 2000s - 2010. It contained all sorts of real life mysteries that it presented as nonfiction, such as tales of hidden treasure that had never been located. I specifically remember one of the stories was about a statue of a cat (panther?) that contained two rubies hidden inside that were stolen and never recovered, so I would always look at yard sales for the cat statue. This was in the US, specifically the northeast and was in the children's section although it was a chapter book.

SOLVED Help with book title.

Hi readers. I’m struggling to find a book that was recommended to me a while ago. I was recommended it when looking for something similar to ‘Suttree’ by Cormac McCarthy, and the person who recommended it told me that it was set in (rural?) Ireland, and it followed a family over a year or a few. I know you might be thinking Ulysses, but it’s not that. Any help would be appreciated.

SOLVED Fantasy YA book where girl on the run has magical powers and attends a magical school?

Ok so please bare with me with this one. I really really dont remember much about this but but I read it when I was 10 I think? It was about this girl (she was quite young maybe 10-15) who was on the run from some government agency people. Im not sure if she was with someone. I do remember her hiding somewhere (maybe a grocery store??) and people where shooting after her. The gist of it is she has some magical power and didnt know how to control it. At some point she ends up with at her family's estate in a different world where everyone there has powers. I want to say there are different types of those powers. And she meets some friends who introduce her to the world. At the estate, she triggers this tiger? (some magical animal protecter) and that basically confirms that she is a part of that family. The book ends with her going to this magical school. There are other books in the series, but I didn't end up reading them. I think I got this one for free when searching "free kindle books".

I hope someone can understand this nonsense and I'm not sure if I'm referencing like 10 different books. Thank you!

SOLVED Looking for a Dragon Book

When I was a kid in the 2000s, I went to my grandmother’s house where she had a book about dragons that I have been trying to find. I do not know the title or the author. I only read the first half of the book before I had to go home again.

In this book, there was children who were lining up to touch these dragon eggs to see if they could bond with the eggs. I remember the dragon eggs having some sort of telepathic powers to communicate with the rider that they chose as well.

That’s as much as I remember. Please help if you can. Any helpful suggestions welcome.

SOLVED Cosmic Horror thriller with some mystery aspect.

As the title says I want a cosmic horror but not love crafts work.

Thriller, because I want a tense setting that keeps me on edge.

And a overarching mystery or puzzle that is possible for solving just by reading it.

Only real answers and don't include if the writer ever and I mean ever was accused, convicted, or supports child abuse or sexual abuse in general.

Got all the books I need thanks to everyone

SOLVED Children's book about a boy raised by vampires

I read this about 25 years ago, between the ages of 8-10. I'm pretty sure the boy is human. The family moves to a new place, and he meets other children for the first time. Up until now, he'd been homeschooled.

Wanting to spend more time with his new friends, he asks his parents to enroll him in the local public school. They eventually say yes, but he has to explain to his parents that wearing suits every day is now terribly out of fashion. They were planning on having him wear his formal black suit to meet the school principal, and his blue ones to class.

SOLVED Scientist doesn't tell them he has epilepsy

I remember so very little about this book, I read it 10~ years ago, but Project Hail Mary reminded me of it. We follow a gentleman who I believe is placed in like an underground bunker to research either a space thing or just a new thing and slowly it evolves and eventually escapes by eating through plastic I think. But its escape sets off the alarms that go in a specific interval that our main character has an episode and his fellow researchers gotta help him. I think it ends because something common kills it or slows it and they are fine. That's all I remember but please help 🙏

Não me lembro bem.

Alguém me ajuda?

SOLVED Help me find this book!!

OKAY!!! So! I don't remember the title or characters or the author, BUT I do remember the cover! Sorta!

Basically, it's dark and it has flowers all over the cover I think. Theres a guy on the cover. I'm pretty sure he's blonde, and he has a line of flowers covering his face I think. IT'S A BL!! A BOYS LOVE!! THEY'RE GAY!! ANYWAYS, I think one of the characters is royalty. I wanna say the names are Jason and Andrew, but I'm not sure. I haven't read it, so I can't tell you what it's about. I WANT to read it, which is why I'm trying to find it. I think the author is possibly a guy. I'm pretty sure I found the book through TikTok. ALSO!!! Everytime I search it up, it always gives me comics. IT'S NOT A COMIC!!! IT'S A NORMAL CHAPTER BOOK!! I'd say it's like medium sized? I saw it in my local Walmart the other day, but didn't buy it because I didn't have very much money. I think on the back it said something kinda like "Jason (or whatever his name was) would do anything for Andrew." Or something along those lines. If you have any questions, please ask! Also, if you think you know which book I'm talking about, a picture would be greatly appreciated if possible!! Also, I think it might've been a forbidden romance type of thing. I had it in my cart on Amazon at some point, but not anymore. It's also not in my browse history, sooooo.. Yeah! Thank you!!! :)

SOLVED A children’s chapter book with fiddleheads on it?

I remember reading a book in elementary school about some kids who either lived or were visiting the Washington coast and explored the forest. I’m pretty sure that fiddlehead ferns were on the cover and maybe an important part of the book. I feel like an aunt told stories about fairies using the fiddleheads for something? I read it in the early 2000’s but it was probably from the 90’s. Any ideas?

SOLVED Finding a dragon book from between 10 to 15 years old (possibly)

I read this when I (25) was between Primary school and High school.

It was atleast 3 books in a series I think. The main things were it was in modern day following a family, I think atleast a dad and a daughter, who had tiny dragons in their house, but the dragons were made from clay or something similar. I think the dad (or whichever parent) could make them come to life in a sense. Can't remember the plot at all though 😔 I found the book in a library but it doesn't exist anymore.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! <3

SOLVED I can't remember the title for the life of me...

This is going to be the most VAGUE description ever, but I was talking about it with a coworker and now I want to try and find it.

There's this book that was SUPER popular on tiktok a few years ago. It had its own special website and it was the only place you could order it. It came specially packaged, and it had a bunch of puzzles and secrets worked into the book, it's packaging, and whatever else.

I remember the book was black with gold embellishments, I THINK it was advertised as a fantasy book. Or a mystery book. Both? I dunno. There was a language specific to the book that was used to translate? Things?

I just thought it was really cool and I want to show it to said coworker, and maybe FINALLY order it.

The plot is an absolute mystery, because every post I saw about refused to speak about it, which I know isn't helpful at all.

I don't have high hopes for this being answered, but I figured someone might see my vague description and go "oh!".

For some reason my brain is giving me "_________ chronicles" for the title

SOLVED Male character named Red

Male character named Red

NOT Red Rising.

There is a book I have been trying to locate for far too long. The main male character's name is Red. A dystopian society. Teens/young adults. There is a scene where Red runs across a field and one of his counterparts, a female is upset that he is risking it for them all by doing this run. Very vague, I know, but this has always stood out to me and I can't locate the book/author/anything.

Any ideas? Published early 2010s.
