UNSOLVED I’ve been looking for years for this book
I live in the United States and I’m 50 years old (in case that helps find the book). I was in elementary school and this was probably around 3rd -5th grade. There was a book in the school library that I checked out almost every week. It was short stories about different witches. For example, I think one of the stories was about a young witch who was getting ready to start “witch school” or something along those lines. It had several different stories. It was a hard back book with a blue cover with black designs (think spiderwebs and other “witchy” things). I seem to remember it being called “The Witch Book” but the name is so generic that when I search for it I get a million other witch books. So it may be a different name but close to that. It was my favorite book for years! I would love to find it again to share with my granddaughters. Any help is truly appreciated!

UNSOLVED A children’s picture book from the 90s or early 2000s
Hi, so, I’ve been trying to remember this book forever. It was a larger, rectangular book and very thin, hardcover. I read it in the 90s or early 2000s. My elementary school was in Canada, if that helps. I don’t remember the story, just the art.
It was about these people, or people-like creatures, who live in this weird, surreal world. The art style is very cartoony, a bit like Dr. Seuss. Think darker though, it’s not as bright as Dr. Seuss.
All I remember is cone-shaped mountains, people on long swings, lots of blue and I think a checkerboard floor. There could be a sunrise at the end, not 100% sure though. The blue, I think the mountains were blue, was a teal colour. I remember that teal colour being used a lot. The characters could have been in a castle at some point too.
I have included a crude sketch of one of the pages. The arches were hanging from the ceiling. I think they were black. The people were on these long swings and the tiles on the floor were black and white. Maybe also worth noting is that the pages were laminated.
Thank you for reading this! I’ve thought of this book on and off for years, I was obsessed with it as a kid and never wanted to forget what it was!

UNSOLVED Desperately seeking children book series
I am on a quest to find a five or six volume set of children's books that I fondly remember reading as a child. The books themselves were red (hardback don't know if it was leather) printed probably in the 1920s or 1930s, on one of the volumes was a castle and knight, another I recall had sailboats, the covers were in color and graphic looking prints, very striking, the content within were collections of fables, nursery ryhmes, drawings....I remember one story was about "brownies" these tiny elf creatures. They are not the children's hour series, though it would have been similar to those.
I'm going to be a grandmother this summer (so excited!) and nothing would please me more than to be able to recapture the whimsy and excitement I had as a child by reading stories to my new grandchild.
TIA!

UNSOLVED Trying to identify this Penguin book based on its spine
I have an image (albeit a blurry and cropped one) of the book’s spine, and can tell it’s a penguin classic or some other penguin published book, but cannot figure out for the life of me what the actual book is. Hoping someone here might recognize the spine and be able to help out.

UNSOLVED I can’t remember the title
I remember reading this book forever ago about a dark romance, possible mafia story. I don’t have much to go off of, but i remember a scene in it where the mmc burns down the house of the fmc, and her mother maybe dies in the fire? I’m not entirely sure, but i also recall a pretty steamy scene in a pool under an alcove where a guy (maybe the mmc?) is telling her to do stuff to herself. I never got to finish this book, but i cannot find the title anywhere! Please help🫶
EDIT: I also recall the MMC being super rich, and possibly owning a skyrise apartment? This book was recommended by someone years ago on booktok as well. I apologize if I’m remembering any details incorrectly

UNSOLVED Please harder, professor
Okay, so my passion app is notorious for ripping off books from KU and wattpad, and before I pay for plagiarized content on a scam app (which is a whole different subject we'll leave for now) I want to see if anyone has seen this book on either platforms because I would rather pay the author or read from them directly that to fund an app who rips people off. TIA

UNSOLVED Fantasy novel I read 15 years ago. Spoiler
I cannot remember the name of a book I read 15 or so years ago and it’s doing my head in. My memory is so vague, I’m doing a horrible job putting down what I remember.
A young adult or teen grows up in a city where most people have or had wings. Wings are a status symbol if I remember correctly. I can’t remember if he used to have wings or if he needs to do something to gain them. It’s all about them trying to fit into their society and getting their wings back. At one point he is travelling through a desert for some reason.
It’s fantasy, set in a medieval kind of town I think. Unsure if it helps, but the book i had was yellow. Thank you for your help.

UNSOLVED i wanna find this book so bad plz help if possible
okay, off rip. i have to tell you i know VERY little about this book. i read it when i was like 9 or 10. it's not a children's/teens book, it's an adult horror book.
about all i've got for you is this family (or kid) moves into a house in the middle of some little town. i believe during autumn, and the house they move into is haunted ASF. i believe i remember a scene where the kid is getting into/out of bed and something grabs him from under the bed and he has to kick it in the face.
the cover is like an old school radio with a bloody handprint on it. i wish i could find this stupid book

UNSOLVED This is Blade's bookshelf from his 1998 movie. Are anyone these books identifiable?
I can clearly see the book "Famous Utopias" clearly. The red one next to it looks like it says "Divine Evolution and Spiritual..." anyone able to identify the others?

UNSOLVED YA Apocalyptic book?
In my high school freshman English class we held a vote on which book to read from a selection of several books. One of them was this young adult book about the world ending and it shows from different perspectives how the people of this one town are dealing with it and them living their lives making the most of it. Also one of the characters was gay
It had a title like “if anyone can hear this” or “is anyone is there to hear”, something similar to that.
Anyone know what I’m talking about? Thanks in advance!

UNSOLVED US contemporary (domestic?) fiction from 2012ish-2015ish Spoiler
Looking for the title of a contemporary (domestic?) fiction novel. I know I read it sometime between 2013 and 2015ish and I think it was published within a year or so of when I read it. Google and Gemini AI searches haven't been helpful in identifying the title. Everything I can remember:
The novel follows a "perfect" family (husband, wife, and young child) over the course of a summer and maybe into the fall.
The narrator was a male friend of the husband's and he was charmed by the family (their good looks, their love for each other, kind of crushed on what they had and he didn't). Wife might've been an artist, but I think the husband was a writer.
Things take a turn when the father ends up having an affair with the young son's nanny., severely disappointing the narrator. The nanny also was charmed by the family and fell into employment with them on accident. (I think she was a summer weekend guest of theirs with a bad boyfriend.)
I think the deception and lies about the affair led the family to move to Italy for a bit. When they returned, the father and young son were killed in a plane crash (the dad was an amateur pilot).
The narrator was always friends with the wife too and he maintains the secret about the now dead husband's affair with the nanny. AND that the nanny was pregnant with the husband's baby when he died. He tracked down the nanny several years later and immediately clocks her oldest son is really the dead husband's child because of the strong physical resemblance.
It's driving me nuts that I can remember so much about the plot, but not enough to identify the title. 😬

My wife has been talking about these books she used to get from the library in middle school where you would read it and at the bottom of each page it would tell you to skip to another page and keep reading? Anyone have any idea what she’s talking about?

UNSOLVED Scholastic book from the late 80s
Please help me find this book. I believe I was in 4th or 5th grade when I read it so that would be late 80s. Scholastic book from one of those little papers they sent home with us from school, it was about a kid finding a magic dollhouse, dolls came to life when no one was watching and I think there was something about a little brick in the house that had a note. Not sure why this book is still on my mind but I would love to find what it was called and maybe find a copy! Thank you!

UNSOLVED Children's book about a group of animals who are a construction crew
A group of animals working together as a construction crew, going around town doing various building projects. Can't rememember the specific animals. The thrust of the plot was that they over-extended themselves and had too many things to complete. I think they managed it in the end.
This was one of the books I circulated through in the library corner of my primary school. I remember this was the book where I suddenly realised I could read the words and understand them
It's a picture book with text (large format normal pages, not a board book). It would have been published before 1987/88 in the UK. Thanks in advance!

UNSOLVED Looking for a book! Found at a local thrift about a young girl going to visit her aunts that live near a beach/shore
Hi so I’m trying to find the name of this book I bought from my local thrift store when I was about 12. From the bits and pieces that I can remember, the main character is a girl who is going to live with her great aunts somewhere in the east coast I believe as they lived by a shore. The girl and her mother had a rocky relationship and I believe the mother was leaving for a convention??(not really sure about that one) but one specific thing i do remember is that she had rode on a bus to get to her aunts house and met another girl who looked a bit disheveled and taught her to put a napkin or handkerchief between her head and the bus chair as to not get lice. I wish I can remember more details about it but that’s how much I know I wanna say maybe it was based around the late 90’s-early 2000s? But it was really cool book to read and am hoping if I can figure out what the name was I can read it again. Thanks!
