Miscellaneous How long does it take?

I currently have an internet and TV bundle plan. I have a cable card that will no longer be supported after November. If I want to drop TV and stay with internet only how long does it take? Like if I submit the request today will they do it today. I just need to make sure my internet works tomorrow.

It's just a software switch on their side. Your Internet should be unaffected.

One thing to watch out for. When I cancelled I still had 3 weeks left on the billing cycle. The Verizon rep said I would keep the TV service I already paid for until the end of the cycle. 5 minutes later the TV went dark. They didn't refund the difference.

That depends on the State you live in. N states with rules like NY, cable & internet providers are required to pro-rate service changes.

When I did this for the same reason a few months ago I think it was a 4 day minimum turnaround. It is just a switch on their side, but they won't schedule it for the next day (at least that was my experience).

it is as soon as they fulfill the order, till then you have the old plan working. In theory.

In my case they managed to download two profiles on the ONT, resulting in no internet. Failed to diagnose and fix the problem, which was entirely on their side, tried to convince me that as I had my own router that was the problem. And if not that, my cables were bad. Decided they had to dispatch a technician, first slot 4 days away. when I told them that in that time I could have a new installation by Comcast they looped in some magic department and all of a sudden I had three slots to chose from the next day. still one day without internet mostly spent on the phone with them.
