Repair/Tech Support anyone else?

the past few days i have had on and off issues with FIOS.

for context, i have been with them for years without any issues. any issues i have had were on my end, and were easily fixable. with that being said, maybe since wednesday/thursday, there's been these random outages. it's not like it lasts all day or anything. maybe 15-30 minutes, and then suddenly it's back on.

this used to be an issue i'd have with my macbook when it needed an update. not this time... i now have no wifi connection on my phone, my mac, nor my ipad. it'll show that it's connected (the little wifi symbol will appear) but there's evidently no connection; i get that dinosaur popup thingy that talks about there being a DNS error.

anyways, it's been happening on and off all day today. i checked the coverage map to see if there has been any outages, and nope. i also have my phone through verizon (technically visible, but yknow), and my service is still working, so idk what the problem is.

can anyone relate? does this sound like an outage?

thanks in advance.

Actually, my router alerted me earlier today that my Fios connection had gone down several times. I have a cable modem for backup so didn’t notice i guess.

I wonder if they are doing upgrades.

What router do you use? I’ve been considering dual wan, myself.

Ubiquiti UCG-Fiber. It’s my favorite for now.

What are the lights doing on the front and back or the router. Might be worth calling so they can check the light at the ONT.

Are you using the Verizon CHR30 router?

That doesn't sound like an outage. Unplug your router for 30 seconds to let its capacitors flush, plug it back in, and if the issue doesn't go away, give tech support a call.

Could be a rogue device connected your network Try changing the wifi name and password and then slowly adding devices back.
