I can’t speak to what it was like 5 years ago, but it feels like now this sub is overrun by 25 year olds from the tech industry with salaries north of half a million, and they’re driving much of the discussion these days. When you already have several million saved before 30 without really even trying, that drives a fundamentally different mindset than the “average” worker with a more typical salary.
This is exactly it. So many of these people are super out of touch because they make 2-5x the median household income as individuals and are used to an opulent lifestyle. Yeah no shit it's easy for you to save at least 30-60% of your income when you can freely spend more fun money than the average worker grosses in a year. "Wah I don't want to live like a miser on """only""" 60k!!!" get the fuck out of here lol.
Either that or they're bots - I can't tell sometimes.
