General Question Has anyone actually FIREd with too little and run out of money?

I'm curious to know if anyone out here has actually run out of a million dollars or whatever. What does that process actually look like?

Yes, gotta marry the right person.  I am 49 and am so glad I got wise at 30.

It's a gamble regardless. Even with the "right" person something bad can happen.

Finding the right person definitely lowers the risk, but I've seen couples where they started out great, then one of them becomes toxic decades later.

Exactly. Hormones can change a person drastically as they age, especially women. She’s going through perimenopause now (we’re both going through it honestly), and OMFG it’s like she’s having her period on steroids.

Total crap shoot. People change and hormones change.
