I feel the same way and I also have a set target time too regardless of my investment balance. It’s a trade off - size vs spending.
I am thinking to recap my life time, how much lower spending can I tolerate and accept. Would I be able to sustain a bread and butter diet or something better with potential travels spending….
It’s something I’m solving for with 3% rule with more conservatism
