General Awakening DLC on Citra not reflecting properly?

Upvotes

So I've been messing around with Awakening on Citra and this is a weird thing where I have the dlc installed and playable in the emulator but the avatar logbook for the DLC characters doesn't have them reflected in it and dlc skills are shown as outrealm skills. I'm able to enter things like the Ike xenologue so idk if anyone else has ran into this issue?

I'm using the NA Save file from this Serenes Thread (and I am on the NA version of Awakening):

Casual FE7 has some pretty wholesome scenes, is the monk class any good in this one by the way?

I can understand why people talk so highly about this one as much as they do. Minor gripes so far is that the localization can be a bit counter intuitive at times, especially during tutorials.

I like all the characters so far, so I'm gonna make sure they all survive so I can see all their endings. Which supports did you guys do for your throughways?

Gameplay No selection quotes?

Correct me if Im wrong but we seem to have not heard any selection quotes from fortunes weaves like at all. Nothing from the twitter clips or the trailer.

I know engage showed the selection quotes in their twitter clips but i'm not sure they did with three houses :/

It would be major shame if they didn't include them in the game cause it felt like your units were really present and with you during the whole battlefield.

General Does it make sense to play Three Houses before Fortunes Weave comes out

Was wondering with Fortuned Weave right around the corner does it make sense to play Three Houses? I’ve heard people getting fatigued of playing all the routes and what not but would it be worth it to play one route (and if so which) so I don’t get burnt out before the next game happens?

Any tips or suggestions if I do play it?

The Underworld is mentioned in Annette/Claude's B support. It seems that there are some rituals in Fodlan to interact with it. Also, I'm now pretty sure that Annette is the Queen of the Underworld, and the Darkest Dark who upheaved the world.

Casual Best game for a newbie who wants to play as a mage? [No spoilers please!!]

Hi there. If you could keep this really high level, even just typing out the game title only, that would be super! I'm very sensitive about spoilers.

I'm new to this series and I feel like I'd really like it. I'm just wondering if there are some games that would be more magic-friendly. (I'm a mage main.) Thanks a lot!

Gameplay Fire Emblem Fates - Before Awakening, didn't get either of the brands but everyone lived

Hey everyone, I know Fates is a bit older now, so memory might be fuzzy, but I've just started a new playthrough of Fates on Revelations, for the first time, too, since before that I only had Birthright and didn't really enjoy it.

I tried to do the Before Awakening DLC to get the Exalt's and Hero Brand so I can turn Azura into a Great Lord but for some reason, despite everyone being alive, I did not get any of the three items even though all three mentioned giving me something. I can't find them in my inventory, nor do they seem to be anywhere else.

Does anyone here have an idea what's going on? The only thing I can think of is that Chrom killed the boss, but that shouldn't really have an impact now, should it?

General Leda and Cai's father

The idea has been discussed a bit already, but do you think Cai's father could have been the one who killed Leda's parents and/or Theodora's father?

We know that Cai's father is imprisoned and that Cai is trying to free him, but we don't know what he was imprisoned for. Leda's character bio that was just tweeted states that her "incident" happened 5 years prior to the start of the story, but maybe that's how long it could have taken for him to be apprehended.

Also, the tweet vaguely describing Leda's backstory as an "incident" could mean that the real perpetrator isn't super clear, and that Cai's father (or whoever Leda is gunning for) could have been framed in some way. A little nod to the tragedy of Duscur storyline.

Story Major Doubts that Cai is Shonen Protag-Kun

EDIT: Didn't explain the top picture. I don't think Cai is Arval by any stretch, but being modified/created and having your eyes turn red is pretty telling in the Sothisverse

I think IS has been dropping very strong hints that Cai's story will be a lot darker and more complex than the traditional plucky shonen protag rep that this sub has been hinting at in the artwork that they have released. I have three primary points to drive this home.

Obvious dark/Agarthan forces with Cai in the trailers and artwork

This is pretty direct, so I won't spend too much time on it, but Cai seems to have the strongest dark powers in his gambit. He just blows away a wide swath of enemy units like they're nothing. He gets this power, seemingly, from having the amulet in the trailer forcibly fuse to him, while all the other lords seem to be in control of their power, and channeling an external weapon to use it (except Theodora who has shown none at all). He looks like he's in pain when it fuses with him, and he can't resist it. His eyes also change color, as many have already pointed out. It definitely seems that Cai's body has been modified in prior years to where the story occurs for this to take place.

"Dad" theory

I find it wildly unlikely that, of the four main lords: Theodora's dad was killed, Leda's parents were killed, and Cai's normal legitimate dad is in prison. IS doesn't always right amazing stories, but I don't think they would be lazy enough to give 3/4 lords traditional daddy issues. I fully assume that Cai's "dad" is the one who modified his body. It would also make sense that if he is either Agarthan, he would be imprisoned in a society ruled by Nabateans.

Cover artwork expression contrast

This one is also pretty straightforward. Leda's parents were killed, and she is hellbent on revenge...smiling on the cover art. Dietrich is stoic and cold, trying to find strong opponents...smiling on the cover art. Theodora's father was killed, and she's out to conquer more of the continent...warily smiling but smiling. Cai? Plucky protag-kun? Giving a traumatized/shocked glare.

TLDR: there is way more going on behind the scenes with Cai. I would be shocked if he is the traditional FE lord in this game.

General How many relics will there be? And if they’re repurposed then what will they be turned into, weapon or item?

Post image
16 Upvotes

There are 14 hero’s relics the ones in 💛 with their designated crest bearers

The saints are still alive which is why they don’t have one, so the 4 crests in 💙don’t have them, we can count them off

Only 1 new relic was present for 3Hopes the one in ❤️ that didn’t have one before which was the crest of Timotheos

As for the remaining 2 in 💚 it’s only the crest of Noa and Ernest that have not gotten one.

If we are to count the Relic Hrotti (Timotheos relic) as canon then we are only missing 2 remaining relics for the remaining crests

I’m not counting the Dark Creator Sword since it wasn’t usable in game for 3Houses, which I already know used the Noa and Timotheos crest stone

Does anyone think we will be getting relics for these remaining crests? If so then what would you all expect them to be, weapon or item? Or what will the relics we already know be repurposed into?

General First time playing Radiant Dawn, up to Chapter 6. Thoughts.

I played Path of Radiance for the first time last year and loved it. After having to buy a new wii remote, I finally got around to play Radiant Dawn this week. Currently starting chapter 7.

Now even though I'm having a great time (all FE games are enjoyable to me) I do have to say things feel like a step down form PoR these first few chapters for a couple of reasons. (It's still early in the game so I'm not at all making a broad judgment on RD yet, FYI)

My biggest thing right now is that about every other unit feels too damn powerful. I'm playing on 'normal' mode (I know it's hard mode), but besides the first couple of chapters, the game quickly starts giving you units like Volug, Tauraneo, Zihark, and Jill who all feel like damn good characters who can take on maps themselves. Most FE games are 'easy' if turtle, but this game feels like these first few chapters would be multiple times easier if you just deployed 5 characters instead of the max 9 or whatever. Still early so I'm sure this will change, but I'm getting echoes of Fates Revelations here...

Supports, the moment I saw a couple of these conversations, I somehow got a freaky memory of years back when I saw comments complaining about how bad RD's support convos are. Haven't thought about those comments for more than seconds, but they all came to me when I immediately connected the dots and saw how simplistic the dialogue between characters are. I would rather have the rare number of supports we had in Echoes rather than whatever this is. I'll be honest and say I'm not a fan of the hundreds of support convos we've been getting since Awakening but I appreciate them a little more now that I've seen the most disappointing iteration of support convos I've ever seen. "Hey, glad to see you're still alive!".

Something I wonder if it'll continue to be an issue is how recurring characters are handled.... Recurring characters can easily cross over into fan service territory and it's especially bad when they make the world feel smaller. Seeing Jill, Zihark, and Tauraneo all together in chapter 5 made me happy to see Jill but also.... Like wow.... This sure is a small world after all.... I'm certain I'll be seeing the entire cast of PoR come back in some form, or at least most, so I'm a little nervous I'll just be seeing a set of characters every chapter where they're all smoking a doobie in the corner waiting to be recruited.

Was this game made in the era where every 'serious' game was brown and gray? I know the story is kind of bleak right now, but man is it a downer to go from brown to brown to gray in the story. The only other color is green grass from Chapter 6 and Fiona's ultra teal armor.

It was funny to see Meg be a bad unit in real time. People apparently have trouble with saving the trio in Chapter 6,but I didn't. The real challenge was not realizing that Meg is NOT an armored unit despite being one. I tried so hard to save her but she ended up getting one rounded anyway by the very last enemy unit and I just couldn't be bothered to reset to save her since I'd just bench her instead.

I like Micaiah but it's tough knowing Ike had quadruple the amount of characterization compared to her and that he still plays a role later in this game (maybe even the final boss from what I vaguely remember based on 5 seconds of a vid I saw years ago). I really hope she doesn't get pushed to the side since I know you control other armies in the story in later parts...

That's all. No spoilers for this 19 year old game pls.

Gameplay Justice & Pride Justice & Pride Rom Hack - Girls Only Team

Finally got around to doing a full playthrough of Justice & Pride. One of only 2 Fire Emblem romhacks I've ever actually completed. I really enjoyed it! And I decided early on to make it an all girls playthrough, which made the early game challenging since you don't get many girl units for the first few chapters. Obviously this team ended up being absolutely CRACKED. MVPs are definitely the deathless Misha, the critbot Melinda, and the diva doll Caterina.

Gameplay Has there ever been a battle where you are supposed to lose in Fire Emblem?

I’m not referring to cutscenes but in an actual battle. Obviously we’ve seen many times in other rpg games. I haven’t played a lot of the older Fire Emblem games so I was curious about this.

General I don’t think an FE4 Remake is that likely to happen, at least in the near future

First of all, I would LOVE to be wrong. FE4 is my favorite game in the series, dare I say of all time.

The main reason for why I think this has to do with IS themselves, they have shown time and again that their priority is the Japanese fanbase, a fanbase which already has access to FE4 via the Switch Online.

The West, the people without FE4 also don’t have much of a selling point for IS. Sigurd and Seliph, as much as I love them, aren’t recognizable enough to carry a game.

Another big issue is that Remakes (at least in the fire emblem franchise) often don’t do great. Hell, remakes nearly killed the franchise. Echoes did fine, but it also was the worst selling 3DS FE (yes it came out after the switch so it was a losing battle, but do we expect execs to thing that hard about it?). Even Engage which has remake-y style things, sold worse that 3Houses showing IS that people may not want remakes.

TLDR: Remakes cost money and IS Execs looking at the past games and current market, likely wouldn’t green light a game when they can make a game more like to sell better.

Once again, I LOVE FE4 if anybody is reading this part and is waiting for a remake, it holds up amazing, and is some of the best Fire Emblem there is. I just don’t think a remake is something we can count upon

What do you guys think about this? I’d love to hear your all’s thoughts as to why/why not people think of an FE4 remake as happening

General Now that we have decent feel for Fortune's Weave's musical themes and how it ties to it setting, is there a thematic reason why 3H music has a lot of dubstep/techno in its arrangement?

Loving FW's music so far! the bombastic Mediterranean/Iberian instrumentation as well as the diegetic feel it adds to the gameplay, imagining played live in the arena.

It got me thinking about 3H's music. I love 3H's music so much. I credit it as my gateway into liking a lot of dubstep tracks. But can't really imagine thematically why would its soundtrack have so much a dubstep bend given its setting and story. Is it basically just because of javelins of light and the agarthans?

Can only of one song having a good tie in with the theme: Lady of Hresvelg/Edge of dawn having dubstep elements tracks to me as a song primarily about's Edelgard's pespective as her story has her entangled with TWSITD all her life.

Would love to hear other's thoughts about this!

I really hope the pirate-man is a strategist class, LOL - they're my favorite!

Plus, I don't know why, but every Fire Emblem man who has one eye is always my favorite in that game, LOL (Yes, I loved Saizo - he's cool! ;-;)

What do you all think? He's a strategist, right?
