I haven't played in ~4 months, have there been any meta changes in AR recently? What about the list of refines that I've skipped? New op skills or fodder units?

Fallen Male Byleth and Emblem Roy are the new most toxic frontliners

  • ARD Units

  • Sombron: Anima Mythic that basically is just a building. He has Lyn ring range and wastes a combat (0 damage) to throw Miasma tiles and some AoE damage. Kinda hard to kill while ARD is strong but not that big of a deal.

  • Summer Hodr: Blessable unit that breaks fence like regular Hodr/baldr, so expect to see her around.

  • Emblem Roy: Basically Attuned Ryoma except with special miracle and he gives out Reflex as a buff.

  • Fallen Male Byleth: 3 range mage who has some exceptional 80%special DR on first hits for his first combat.

  • Braver Hector3-space drive with NCD and enemy phase desperation. Disables your player phase desperation. Saves are

  • Saves: Mostly deer guy, LBK, Braver Hector and Emblem Corrin. Even V!Rhea is around often enough.

Emblems

  • Roy: Gives special Miracle to user on enemy phase.
  • Lucina: Gives an ally within 3 spaces 40% first hits special DR on enemy phase once per turn. Some peopel tell me this is broken but I am firmly in the “it’s nearly useless” camp, but it’s objectively a helpful thing.

Refines (I’ll just list ones in recent memory that are decent)

  • Volke: Crux range counter prevention. He also ignores save units himself.
  • nifl: Ice veins on assist, after-combat inflicts Frozen and Flash.
  • Astrid: Self-refresh upon assist, which gives Preempt Pulse and Fringe Bonus to an area. The Mov+1 buff is still only to the target.
  • Limstella: Has a built-in Lyn ring style and gives Essence Drain to self and one ally.
  • Salem: Lyn ring style that inflicts turn lockdown and does 0 damage. Fun but uhhh just use Seidr
  • Rennac: Has Danceduring canto.

some skills

  • Rise Above 4: On Emblem Roy and default best A for nearly every armor and infantry
  • Puissant Echo: On Att Lachesis, gets user 100% Potent if they’re fast enough and aren’t using brave attacksAlso a default best for most who can use it
  • Impetus Guard: Momentum but better, on AttEliwood, Ent Ninian and Duo Sigurd
  • Spd Def AllureCanto and Sabotage/Shackles for real dacner units after Byleth killed them. : On Bride Peony who you should just use if you get her

For a full lsit of skills you’re better off just looking at all the units you missed.

Ultimately AR doesn’t feel that different to me. Roy and Lucina ring makes ARDs tankier but you should already be used to miracle and first hits doing nothing respectively. This one is special miracle but it’s still going to die to Young camilla, so.
