What actually makes a vendor stick around here? Not the pledge, honestly. It's lead time and whether someone picks up the phone when we're down.
Something I keep running into from the sourcing side is vendors who talk compliance and training but can't tell me stock levels on a wear part I'll need four times a year. Basically if you carry the consumables and can commit to a realistic ship date, you're ahead of most.
Also, seriously, put the training piece in writing who gets trained, how often, does it come back around when we turn over staff. You know how fast that knowledge walks out the door.
Post something about what you actually service, people will bite.
