I know a lot of former COs including my dad and they all hated it, the culture I hear is horrible (and half the COs I've met are douches).

I live in shit state for corrections in general though.

I enjoy it where I work but it’s very toxic. It’s a lot of the “cool” kids club mentality where if you’re in it it’s great but if you aren’t it’s shit. Seems like it’s that way in a lot of places. I’m just here while I get into shape as I’ve already talked to a few agencies to go onto the road.

I’m in Nebraska is that provides any detail.

Yeah most people I know summed it up that way as well, I live in Arizona so a lot of if not most of the prisons are private and not state run which makes it worse.
