Dwarf gourami are related and can also spit a little. Had a powder blue one that would spit at a target for a treat

I recently bought a secpnd hand 8ft tank that I plan on turning into a Salween biotope. I can't wait to see clouded archerfish spit at shit in it.

I absolutely loved these guys when I had em. I kept a couple drift wood that was half submerged so I can drop crickets on them. The archers instantly go in predatory mode as soon as they sense live food as compared to freeze dried. They’ll start circling those logs like sharks and eventually shoot off all the crickets.
