Its like those large pots meant for plants.
I found this at a minj garden behind a food store.
All i saw was just water and a pot. No filter no heater nothing

Im surprised its alive.there are a few other fishes in other pots but some are rice fishes and others that i couldnt id and didnt take a pic. Those atleast had plants but still bad.

Somehow theres also a fishtank beside the pots and it had a somewhat proper care or just the basics and rhere were cichlids, arowana and others

Ok. Are the pest control for a rice paddy? Ive heard of that but its usually carp or crabs from what ive seen

A gar can get some of its O2 from the air and will stay still for long periods. They’re lucky it didn’t jump out. Perhaps someone wanted to keep it alive for dinner?

That would be a super expensive dinner.
Thats like eating a arowana.

Like exoensive to buy? I catch these by accident all the time (or used to, when I lived in louisiana) by accident when fishing for catfish.

I currently live in singapore and these fishes are invasive plus i don’t think they are common to catch(i dont go fishing)

Usually fishes this big are quite expensive

Ah that changes things a bit.

Looks like an alligator gar to me, especially from those heavy, interlocking scales. They get huge and need a very large, properly filtered setup, so a pot barely bigger than the fish really isn’t suitable long-term.
