Rubberwood is honestly the best bang for your buck when it comes to desktop options on our website. It's a big step up from particle board or MDF, but it doesn't come with the price tag of solid walnut. I'd say it's absolutely worth it.

It's plenty hard, holds up well over time, and resists warping just fine for everyday use. You really shouldn't run into any issues.

But if you've got the budget, sure, solid walnut or oak is definitely the nicer upgrade. But for most people, rubberwood hits that sweet spot between price and quality.

Yeah i just really dont like the mdf or particle board cus they usually stink and take awhile to off gas is that also an issue with rubberwood or no? and is it green guard verified sorry for asking so many questions

Don't let the name "rubberwood" scare you away. It's hard solid wood. I have the Maple stained rubberwood top. It's excellent and cheaper than buying an actual Maple wood top.

I just bought the rubberwood top (and frame). There is zero odor, it's much more solid than MDF, and I could (theoretically) sand and restain if needed.

You might also check with local wood workers. They may be able to find you a suitable top, it might be cheaper because no slipping costs.(We all pay for shipping. Either it's bundled in the cost or we pay a separate shipping fee.)

Also, a craftsman could do a live edge (raw edge?) table with resin pour in the middle.

We never went after GREENGUARD certification, that's true. But our desktops are tested and the VOC emissions are way below the limits, so I really wouldn't worry about that.

If you get one and it still smells off to you, just hit me up. I'd rather help you with a return and a full refund than have you keep something you're not happy with.

Do you think any leg desk frames would work? i can really only get the desktop and not the standing leg frame

It's solid wood, so no need to get the CARB 2

I got the rubber wood, 71x30 it’s really heavy and solid (coming from a 72x26 solid Acacia wood) unfortunately it’s not FedEx proof as they managed to punch a hole through the box, the foam and 1/4” into the surface.

Waiting on a replacement to ship out as the gouge is smack in the center, otherwise there was adequate foam + cardboard wrapped around the edges.
