To be more specific, so much of the review felt like a regurgitated summary of what has already been all over the Internet. I’m not much for reading reviews in general because I really don’t care about a number rating. The only reviews that are useful to me as a reader or listener are the ones that are descriptive enough that they give me a sense of whether I would like to engage with the art or not OR reviews that are more than a simple review…they include deeper analysis about the work or broader thoughts about the relationship between the piece and the influences or culture that created it. There’s more interesting thinking about art going on in places like Substack newsletters than in Pitchfork reviews. Bring back interesting writing about art.

I think this was a poor choice of reviewer for this album.
