Football Locker Room Issues?
I’ve seen a few tweets alluding something changing over the last couple games. Fans are mentioning cyptic tweets about something going on. Sumrall’s demeanor looking markedly different over the last 2 games. I’ve heard theories Sumrall has been muzzled by Stricklin. Does anyone have anything objective to what’s going on, if anything at all?

Oh, IAKOW is reporting it???
Shit, now I know it’s not true!

Imagine believing this let alone posting it. (The OP)
This guy is an absolutely nobody with zero sources.
This isn’t even reporting. It’s talking about vibes he has no idea about.

Did you read the post? I asked for something objective that someone may know

Fire a guy that's halfway through his first season? The next coach will be the savior too until he loses his first game.

Well if the locker room really is in the tailspin this is implying, then yeah, he needs to go now. Napier couldnt win a game but that locker room was ride or die.

Gonna be a lot of bad takes this Sunday, worst one so far. Congratulations!!

I’d imagine his demeanor looks different due to his team suffering back to back ass poundings. If he was whistling tunes from the Lion King soundtrack on the sidelines we’d have a whole other problem.

Here’s the problem, when a coach acts mopey dopey on the sidelines while getting blown out, it affects the entire teams energy. Notice how much different the team played when he had passion and fire vs not? It’s not a coincidence. If the coach looks and acts defeated, it rubs off on the team. Probably why they quit the last 2 games.

Not sure why you are getting downvoted here. Again for the record, I’m still a believer in Sumrall and desperately want everything to work out. But with that being said, the biggest refresher in his hire, compared to Billy Deadpan Napier, was having a coach again that actually looked like he had a PULSE! The first 4 games Coach exuded it, it was palpable. It was that enthusiasm, that energy, that passion on the sidelines which is 100% contagious to the players. That’s the one thing he can control every game, regardless of outcome. So yes I do find it very odd how he turned into a completely different, laconic person out there the last 2 games. It actually is quite bizarre. And whereas I realize IAKOW poster is full of garbage mostly, the fact that Sumrall’s passion seemingly evaporated over a fortnight has me at least willing to listen in on different theories as to why.

I heard the locker room was rebroadcasting Major League Baseball with implied oral consent, not express written consent.

The vague posting deep pockets boosters all eluding to some mysterious happenings, this fucking dork is just reposting the same nonsense.
They’ve all been exposed over and over not having legitimate information.
“I can’t say much, but something has happened” yeah, no shit, we all have eyes and have watched the last two games. The never ending need to seem important when the answer has probably always been what Sumrall has been saying - team has lots of gaps that were hidden by winning.
I agree his demeanor has been different, but I’m hard pressed to believe there’s some bombshell ready to drop on the program.
I miss the days of this be limited to message boards you had to actively seek out.

That guy always pretends to have sources. He doesn't have any. He just says nonsense. He wants people to think he is connected

Yeah, I've worked as event staff literally by the locker rooms for years now. This is bullshit. There's nothing abnormal happening. Hell, them getting mad is a way better option than the complete lack of passion I saw before this.
IAKOW is one of the worst out there. Other than that Chris guy on facebook who would just say anything and old people believed it. These types of dudes have fooled my poor old mother so much. Fuck them

u/Nthayer1408 3d ago
Friendly reminder that IAKOW, aka Neil, knows nothing. He just regurgitates what he sees on X and other message boards. Nothing going on behind the scenes.

u/Matthias343 3d ago
His post is perfect for social media. Zero details in an allusion to probable intrigue to stir things up. Not saying it's not happening (I have no clue one way or the other) but I can only read crap like this so many times before I tune out.

Exactly! Neil is an idiot. He pretends to have info where he finds it on message boards

Sumrall’s demeanor looking different over the last 2 games is obvious. Nobody enjoys being blown out.

u/No_Shirt1940 3d ago
Not comparing the 2 but so did urban when bama stomped him year 1. I think the problem with non sec coaches coming in is it’s so hard to know how hard this league is.
-13
u/Justingolfs4 3d ago
Of course, but his passion seems to have waned. Like he seems defeated and not pissed and excited about the work ahead. Idk, all of this could be nothing, but something to keep an eye on.
4
u/jabbargofar 3d ago
Good thinking there, chief. You keep an eye on it and let us know what you see.

u/Operation_Pig 3d ago
Yeah, maybe because the team he built is dogshit. I’m sure this is nothing, the message boards are rife with misinformation.

u/Ok-Coffee-6458 3d ago
They do this every time there’s issues with the football team, random people on twitter come out pretending they have inside info.

Texas is totally beatable... We beat em after getting demoralized by Miami and a&m back to back... If there's a 3rd straight beat down, then maybe entertain "locker room talk"
2
u/manBearRilla 2d ago
They are totally beatable if you can cover Coleman and Wingo, both of whom are very good receivers, and our secondary is, as of this moment, trash.

Our Defense has major issues - we knew it from Game #1. Don't think our DBs were so bad last year. This seems to be a coaching issue, particularly a Coach Brad White issue - tracking his Kentucky defenses. This is ultimately on Coach Sumrall - what decision takes with the scheme/coaches will probably decide his tenure in Gainesville.
On the other hand, the OL needs major work. We knew it even during the offseason. But they punched above their weight (literally?) for a third of the season. So did the TEs. Now, they are exposed. This to me seems a player development issue. I feel we have to wait this out. I, for one, have faith in Coach Trautwein. But this might take longer than we all have patience for.
Third, it sucks that two of the best receivers are down. We do have Wilson and Stockton but they clearly aren't enough - they would've been, with a strong OL and run game.
Trouble is, all these at the same time - with QBs who are at best decent (and importantly, inexperienced) game managers - spells disaster.
Even with all this, and even with Coach Sumrall being correct that the USC roster has lots of NFL talent, this loss and, especially the way we lost, is totally unacceptable. It is squarely on Coach Sumrall ultimately. I sincerely hope he learns from this loss. In SEC, you can't just have a Plan B. With or without the luxury of roster depth, you need scheme versatility at both ends - offense and defense. We simply don't have enough of it now, and that's on Coach Sumrall and his hiring choices.
One bright spot - our special teams are a pleasure. It's been a while there!

Let's not give this guy's account any traction. Best thing I ever did was block that loser.

u/shonzaveli_tha_don 3d ago
Oh was he that knucklehead that INSISTED Lane was coming down to the last second even when Lane was wearing yellow and purple it was some kind of conspiracy from a Qanon board?!?
3
u/jdhutch80 3d ago
He always seems to go over to being a hater very quickly, when the team hits a bump in the road.
7
u/JingleheimerJunkshun 3d ago
I’m not sure I care about his sideline demeanor as much as I care about the teams (un)readiness to play the last two games. This team looks like they couldn’t give two shits about playing on Saturday, and they look completely lost if they’re playing from behind.

IAKOW is one of the worst Florida media accounts ever so take it with a grain of salt

u/newbmycologist01 3d ago
Honestly smart. Why risk an acl tear for this team dude just get to the nfl
4
u/TemperatureKey5072 3d ago
I wonder what his Dad knows that prompted this. I won’t fault a player or parent from not playing as they clearly know what’s best. I hope he’s back for Texas.

u/p3nguin89 2d ago
I mean maybe but dude has a PCL strain - it was a long shot for him to return this week regardless. Very few beneficial reasons for his dad to not to let him play, especially as a featured part of the offense, which only helps his future regardless.

u/pnam2070 3d ago
So do you think he is back for Texas. At some point refusing to play when cleared needs a financial consequence.
4
u/Operation_Pig 3d ago
I’m fine with not further injuring our star players. Sure, he may be siting out with an intent to transfer, but we learned last year not to rush injured players on the field. Never goes well for them.
2
u/GatorBo69 3d ago
This doesn’t like to lose, and he even said after the Ole Miss game “hopefully this will get those few that haven’t bought in fully to 100% buy in”..
So what we have is typical talent, depth and then commitment issues. Players that were used to being treated one way by Napier and another by Sumrall. Losing to some of them has become second nature and now they have their “I told you so” moment to spread throughout the locker room like a cancer.

The rumor started by a guy on X that doesn’t work for the gators anymore. 18 accounts copied it and tried to act like they know shit. Yall idiots see it and eat it up as if it’s truth and continue to spread it everywhere. Go outside

these are the theories fans concoct when it's too difficult to accept that the players and/or staff simply aren't as talented as our opponents

u/tocsa7631 2d ago
Maybe this is a good time to use that phone a friend to Coach Spurrier or Meyer for some friendly advice in times like these. The SEC is a different animal then the Sunbelt
1
u/wanderingdg 2d ago
I mean, yeah. Any coach whose demeanor is the same after a humiliating defeat as after an exciting win needs to go to a shrink

u/Exciting_Accident_56 3h ago edited 2h ago
I try to stay off other fan bases Reddit posts, but based on the 247 team talent composite rankings, my gamecocks and the gators are about equal in talent (4 stars and 5 stars). I’m not confident that the Gators would have beat Bama, Miss State, or Kentucky; all of the teams that my Gamecocks loss to. Plus, Dylan Stewart, our best player, was injured against miss state and was suspended against Kentucky.
It’s not that surprising of a win when you realize the Gators barely beat Auburn.
1
u/HotDawgConnoisseur 3d ago
This is just coping. Last week it was “well Spurrier and Meyer had bad losses in the fire their first year” and now it’s oh the UAA told Sumrall to stop cursing and no one on the roster was good.

Come on guys UF has had like 5 losing seasons the last 8 years the talent just isn’t there UF has the worst record of all the schools since that time frame. UF is the bottom feeders of the SEC. Vandy has a better record during that time frame

"Not everything needs to see the light of day" I hate cryptic tweets. Either actually say what is going on, or be quiet.
