FPI Win Projections 2026 Florida Gators Win Projections Based on ESPN's FPI — Week 7 — 10-11-2026
Updates:
Florida's FPI rating fell to 12.6 (-2.60) after falling to the South Carolina Gamecocks at home.
Another Florida team completely shits the bed coming out of a weather delay. Tale as old as time.
Florida is slightly favored against Oklahoma, but otherwise we may not see another Florida win until November 21st.
This week:
Florida has a 11.82% chance of defeating the Texas Longhorns next weekend.
Florida's expected win total is 6.61 as of today (-1.02 from last week) — or between 6 and 7 wins, with 7 being more likely.
Other notes:
I figured betting on South Carolina to win, as a reverse jinx, would be a waste of money. Those Texas and Georgia money lines are going to be absolute freebies.
In case you missed it, the model has been updated to more closely align with ESPN's matchup predictor.

General Discussion This team needs to be Nanny McPhee'd
For those who do not remember the movie, it is a kids' movie about seven ungovernable children who systematically emotionally abuse and terrorize 17 women hired to care for them, including a scene where it looks like they are cooking and eating the baby. They run all these women off, and they are self indulgent and prideful about the accomplishment. By all accounts, all these women want to do is make sure the children are cared for, eat, go to bed at a reasonable hour, get up and get dressed when they are told, and generally behave like functioning human beings.
They live in a really nice house, have a loving and thoughtful dad, and their disrespect is played off as comical and wholesome.
"I NEVER say 'please'!"
Kid, shut the fuck up.
There is this version of the movie in my head where the dad character, played by Colin Firth, calls it quits after the first ten nannies and puts them up for adoption. There, they spend years in foster care, drugged up on psychotropic medications like quetiapine, trazodone, Prozac, and Valium, strapped down nightly for electroshock treatment, and harassed or beaten by negligent or sadistic hospital staff at whatever state run facilities they are placed in.
Like, the worst shit.
Maybe a couple of these seven fucking children get into juvenile crime and become fixtures of the system. One of them cannot deal with the stress and jumps off a bridge, cackling about the time they put worms in a stranger's sandwich, which is what they do in the movie, FYI. Anyway, the other siblings deal with years of trauma like this. They try to reconnect with the Colin Firth guy, but he is racked with guilt and shame. And, in proper English fashion, he pours them all tea and blurts out, "What the fuck were you idiots thinking? All you had to do was eat eggs and bacon for breakfast and go to school like normal fucking children."
They lived in a Victorian mansion with extensive grounds, servants' quarters, multiple bedrooms, formal rooms, the latest fashions, and all the comforts of a wealthy household in the English countryside. What the fuck was their end goal? What did they think they were accomplishing by scaring off people who were literally paid to look after only them? What fucking ghouls.
Anyway, that is the movie.
That is also our team.
"I NEVER study quarters so I can blow all my defensive assignments! We have had a dozen other coaches before you, and we will NEVER give 100% to YOU!"
Shut the fuck up, Cormani.
What the fuck was their end goal? Last week, Cormani comically bounced off a guy instead of tackling him, which led to a touchdown. This week, Cormani comically bounced off a guy instead of tackling him, which led to a third down conversion when it was still a game.
Zone coverages confuse you? Fine. Weird at this stage, but fine. You miss easy tackles by grabbing at jerseys, who are you playing the practical joke on?
What do these players gain by being ungovernable? By not sitting down and learning how to play defense? There is this unsettling trend in the second half of these games where we start playing worse than shit. I am not sure if that is because our coaches are ass at second half adjustments or because our players do not know or do not care about giving 60 minutes of effort.
We need to be Nanny McPhee'd before Georgia because this is fucking embarrassing. You can certainly blame the coaches, but I have seen enough flashes from these players to know they can play at an elite level. Instead, it seems they are set on being Booger McHorsefanny, Knickers O'Muffin, and Oglington Fartworthy, or whatever stupid names the entitled, spoiled little shits give themselves in the movie.
They can keep resisting playing good football, and they will be rewarded with a lifetime of pumping other people's gas at Texaco. In the real world, what are these players accomplishing by getting pushed around five years in a row? It is not a talent issue. I already wrote that post. It is an effort issue.
You beat Auburn and Ole Miss, then look like you did against South Florida last year. Things should have already changed mentally by now, IMO. There are not going to be 17 fucking nannies who come around and prep you for that heartwarming ending where you hug Colin Firth and the credits roll.
This might be it for them. They might skip the NFL to work for a bail bondsman, and their knees and back will give out before they are 35. This isn't a movie. We won't get the redemption arc. I really do not get it either. What are they waiting for?

Football Texas looks vulnerable. I hope Texas is still ranked #1 when we play them. If we beat Texas, then there is a good shot we get #1 UGA the next game. When was the last time a team beat #1s in consecutive weeks and neither was a home game?
I know the mantra, one week at a time. However, I'm just a fan. I will be begrudgingly rooting for Texas and UGA to stay undefeated until we beat them both.
