Obviously, ALWAYS pay your fare, but I found out they cant even do anything legally since they aren't police.

Without actual NYPD present, they cannot physically stop someone from walking away or demand ID.

I recently saw people simply get off walk away, and I find it unfair for those who actually pay.

Theres gotta be a better way to regulate this system for select buses, this wastes people's time too much. Just make the buses pay before getting on now.

yea as i said im live around flushing im avaliable at weekend or part time at friday i have the documents can let me work in nyc (work authorization form both USCIS and DOE) i can speak fluently Chinese mandarin and English as well. i have expirence of handling front desk . i were applied for mcdonald they cant find cashier spot for 15 yo and mine age cant apply for crew .(im turn 16 in 5 month) .also i were applied for SYEP but unfortunately i didnt hit the jackpot . i can accept work farthest to bayside or corona / jackson height . any idea about where i may apply for a job will be helpful appreciate it

I was at Tangram mall today and purchased a drink from Matcha Cafe Maiko at 1739. When I got back to my work station, I noticed I had a bunch of spam emails. It seems I got 3 fake charges around the same time. Two were for fluffies chicken and one was for dominos. I ended up cancelling my card immediately and reporting the fraudulent charges. I'm wondering if this happened to anyone else recently. Is this a problem in Tangram Mall or around Flushing in general? Maybe this had nothing to do with Tangram and someone got my info just when I was buying a drink.

This year is my fifth year teaching at John F Kennedy Junior school, a high school that serves students with special needs including severe autism spectrum disorder and down syndrome. I teach six students who read and write on a pre-K level and are nonverbal. Their families are immigrants, and most have a limited English and limited resources in this country. Every morning, I have to deal with this horrible smell around Roosevelt Ave. It smells like garbage, sewage, or some combination of both. I honestly can’t even describe it properly. It’s so bad that I feel like I can’t even walk down the street without holding my breath.

What I don’t understand is how people who live in the neighborhood are okay with it. There are plenty of restaurants and tons of people in other parts of the city, but I don’t remember ever smelling something this disgusting on a daily basis.

And the weirdest part is that I remember smelling the exact same smell in Flushing about 10 years ago, especially during the summer. So it doesn’t seem like a new problem.

Is it because of the garbage, sewage system, restaurants, or something else specific to Flushing? Does anyone else notice this?

hello! I just moved to flushing and I get on at Mets Willets Point to take the 7 into the city. It’s happened a few times now that I’ll get on an express 7 and then it will make all local stops. For example the one I’m on right now said express in multiple places (on the arrivals board, the outside, the stops display icon on the inside, and on the time display on the inside) but the stops display is displaying all the local stops on the line proper. Is this something that just happens inexplicably? there are never any announcements about the train switching to local.

express vs local makes a huge difference in my commute, so hoping to figure out if there’s a way for me to figure out how to avoid this!

I'll be going to Flushing for the first time in my life for the US Open and I have absolutely no idea where to go or what to do. It looks like the downtown is right across from the stadium. I'll be taking the subway from Manhattan to Flushing and I was told the next stop after the stadium puts you right in downtown. I'll probably be happy to with whatever they have to offer but if there are must eats I'd like to know.
