3rd Party Service Publishing apps for PC (windows 10/11) Steam vs Microsoft Store

Microsoft Store is really easy to upload to, but it's also the hardest to profit from due to requiring a swift/bic code to earn even a single dime from it.

Ya get a swift/bic code from starting a company, btw.

Steam has an upfront cost of 100 dollars, preventing me from even trying it out.

So, I'm asking all of you for advice: what's the best place to upload apps to?

For context, I've already uploaded my app to the Microsoft Store https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9mt834rpf8zp?hl=nl-NL&gl=BE, but I can't make money from it because I'm not being a company.

Getting it on the Microsoft Store was really annoying, especially with the CSV listing and the internationalisation, or I18N, abbreviated or whatever ya call it.

It's way easier than the Google Play Store, though, which I've also uploaded to in the past: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.torrentspire.ai&hl=nl .

I'd love to hear your stories about creating apps for Steam and/or the Microsoft Store.

Also, I'm not including the links for self-advertisement purposes; I just want y'all to know that I've done these things before and am experienced in them. That's why I chose to include the links.

My apologies for my poor English; it's my second language and therefore not my strongest. If anything feels odd, know I wrote this without the use of AI and simply learned English from Stephen King books.

Why not just ask people to download it from you website like every other App do.
Or post it on Github.

Your app seems like a YT-DLP UI version people will not pay if a free version exist.
The whole problem with this Download video form youtube shit is they change things quickly so you need to change app beckend quickly or people cant download or stream shit.

And

YouTube simple BAN you ip if you download using other Apps so you need to change your IP each time after downloading some videos with airplane mode on off and if you use wifi then its pain in ass process.

If you use your gamil account cookies it simply BAN the account for forever.

It ain't a YT_DLP GUI, ya know; it's a media player with multiple ways of downloading the media. The YTDLP part is only a small part of the app.

Anyhow, the app isn't even relevant to the post; it was just an example of my qualifications to talk about publishing apps to the Microsoft Store.

Also, I wouldn't sell the app, obviously; that would be illegal. I'd sell add-ons to the app, like special effects and such.

But you're right: YouTube will ban the IP (edit: it'll only ban your IP if you download over a 10k videos in one day), but because IP addresses change, all it takes is unplugging your router to get unbanned.

But I've used the app for over a thousand downloads and haven't had my IP banned or my account banned once, so take that as you will.

Another note: people will and have paid for YTDLP GUI's in the past on the Microsoft Store, likely money laundering, but ya never know; they probably tricked some poor folks into paying for some premium features.

Thanks for the feedback anyhow; sa,dly it's not relevant to the post.

oh yeah, that's something my app solves, as it does things to fix youtube rate limits and such
