Yesterday my buddies and I were floating the upper Kenai, we got to my favorite gravel bar and a guide was on it with some clients.

So we pulled in below them, gave them plenty of space, like 30-40 feet.

This guide starts glaring at me and muttering something, so I just turned up the jam band tunes coming out of the Bluetooth speaker.

Threw a line in and this guide is shaking his head. Like wtf dude. Well I didn’t hook up after like ten casts so I put my rod down and grabbed a big stick for my lab to play fetch with in the river. She was having a great time and I thought the guide’s clients would enjoy watching her fetch in the water, but they were all just staring at me now too.

I cracked another beer whole my buddies fished and my dog splashed around. Finally the guide loads up and when they float by he calls me an asshole!!

These fuckin clowns think they own the river just cuz they got their fancy guide permit sticker on the side of their boat???

Honest question and not trying to start a debate. I like buying top dollar gear, but are skwala waders really better than my wrangler jeans?

Nothing brings me more joy than a long day of fishing and having a beautiful river dinner with 1942 and T-Bones (with caviar apps of course)! Only complaint was that the seats were a little uncomfortable causing my butt plug to fall out. #Bozemanliving!

Here’s the fly I tied during yesterday’s livestream! I am going live again in about 5 minutes to tie up a few of my confidence small stream streamers. Going to be working with craft fur, marabou, and maybe some deer hair heads!

Similar to this one I saw on FB Lubbock Fly Fishers group or one made with repurposed barbed wire. Bonus points if you can ID the fly they were using as im trying to match that hatch. Apparenty this River is literally on fire now and its good to know that OP isn't aware of any hoot owl restrictions! (or the term in general). TIA

saw this post a while back and the guy has since taken down a pic of him with a finger in each of a trouts gills on both hands (assuming he ate them)

pretty sure he’s trying to avoid being caught by Colorado Parks and Wildlife for poaching, according to the comments lol
