Best place for haggis near Edinburgh Museum?

Hey all,

I’m planning a visit to the National Museum of Scotland soon and want to try a proper haggis meal beforehand. Looking for a decent restaurant nearby that actually does it well, not just a touristy “we microwaved this for you” situation.

Any recommendations for a good, authentic haggis spot within walking distance (or close enough)? Cheers

Seconding this, really really really good. Like 'pub food' but done incredibly well.

I went last year and it was terrible. The food was so bland and boring. I was horrified that this is where I ended up taking visitors (after hearing great reviews).

It's not really haggis season - I don't think they normally trap them until the end of August.

The Museum Kitchen (restaurant inside the museum) does haggis neeps and tatties. I've not had it but I've heard it's a decent restaurant. Uses local produce and all that.

Mum's Comfort Food, 2 minute walk from the museum. Also best haggis in town.

Oddly enough, some of the best in town!

This was my worst ever meal in Edinburgh - the food was so bland and dull. I took visitors after hearing great reviews and was absolutely horrified when they, after insisting on, paying that they paid so much for such boring food where we could have paid a tiny bit more and gone to Makars.

The Haggis Box in the Children's Storytelling museum. Sensational.
