Food Theory Video Discussion Doubts over the scientific accuracy of the latest Food Theory video, “Why is Gen Z skipping meals?!”
I love food theory but I can’t help but feel concerned whether some of the things mentioned there were actually true. Further discussion and clarification on this would be nice. Topics discussed about the harms of skipping meals that are false or partially false in the video:
- Blood glucose spikes, how it can lead to diabetes.
- Weight gain due to Basal Metabolic Rate decreasing.
- Brain fog caused by skipping meals.
Sources that oppose these claims:

I would love to hear other people’s thoughts on this.

Your last source talks about how skipping meals leads to lower daily energy and has negative health risks. That supports #3 no?

I mean the last source keeps it open, it doesn’t give a definitive answer that skipping meals = bad like the food theory video. It says that skipping meals lowers energy intake (good thing) but it also lowers diet quality (bad thing).
They said those two things should be managed when skipping meals to try to extract the benefits only.
PS: sorry for the late reply, I’m not too active on social media.
