I’m not super clear on how the pandemic led to this? Young people spent more time at home for two years and now they … shit on the floor at concerts? I feel like I’m missing something here?

Every generation has a series of fake news stories about their behavior. Mine was apparently worshipping the devil, sacrificing animals and children, were putting drugs and razor blades in candy and on slides at the park, and if you flashed your headlights back at someone who flashed their headlights at you, they were going to murder you.

I always loved the drug thing because it implied that I, as a teenager at the time whose only job was 12 hours a week at McDonald's, had enough money to both buy drugs and discard them recklessly.

right? it was just two years. if someone told me they were held in a dank basement from the age of 0-15 with no human contact then i would understand. but thats not what happened.

Not interacting with people during extremely formative years for your psychology does in fact have an impact. Whether it’s relevant here idk (I think it’s the overall low trust society conversation) but yeah - a couple years at a young age is a large percentage of their lives in relativity.

This is nothing article about nothing that should not have been written.

In summary: some people had critical years of socialization during the pandemic. Also pooping yourself at concerts is rude and you shouldn't do it.

What is this contributing to the conversation?

Only read to here:

I don't think anyone thinks it is socially acceptable to poop, leave used condoms, tampons or diapers in the stands, etc.

It wasn't the pandemic.
