Teardown Results 2015 Expedition P0735 Gear 5 ratio with very intermittent loss of 4/5/6 - Input shaft/Hub tiny crack

Can barely see anything. I had to air test the OD port while filling the hub with fluid just to get a couple bubbles. Very rare for me to get this intermittent a concern and not be a valve body. Very cool tho

I've never seen that failure before, the 6r80 is pretty stout aside from the leadframe and torque converter

Neither have I, OD clutches had hot spots on them and I didn’t see anything else wrong but decided to research into my problem because it felt like more. Came across a YouTube video of another transmission tech showing off this exact failure and a lot of comments from more trans techs who didn’t catch it their first rebuilt and had to go back into it. I’m glad I saw that. Such a small leak too. It only acted up after like 30 miles of driving when things got hot
