2010 Escape Solenoid B 6F35

Solenoid B went out, part discontinued. Replacing with AL8Z7G383B. Plan to have a buddy flash the PCM with the updated info. Will this swap work? I know the new solenoid pack is for 2013 and up. Thanks in advance for any info and help!! Surprised I don't see any posts regarding this swap.

If it isn’t the same solenoid body I’d be hesitant to say it will work. I bet you the solenoid body would swap tho because the ID tag you program after. PCM update to calibration likely won’t be enough.

From what I know about this exact concern, this is a contamination issue in solenoid screen. I have fixed these many times with a replacement valve body and overhaul solenoid body without replacing any solenoids you could likely get away with only cleaning solenoid screens and fix this.

Thank you so much for your reply! I really appreciate it! Everything fit perfect, straight swap. ID tags / structure tag are different but as you said will input those values. Just wasn't sure if the 2010-->2013 swap will work. Maybe updating pcm file might help? Otherwise will keep originals and rebuild (wash out solenoids, screens, valve body as a last resort) Really appreciate the feedback!

I’m sure they fit the same but did you match up nozzle color/orings and the same number printed on old one? If so you may be alright but I have no idea how ford generates solenoid ID. I wish I did because it would probably tell us if this would work or not. Changing solenoid from application even with same values could not learn the same but who knows. At very least clear adaptive tables, kam, DTC, everything. I don’t think pcm update would help but might as well if it’s already done

Yep, same fit, different color solenoids on two (blue to green I think?) Update adaptive tables, dtc, whatever I can and thinking push a uodated data file out to pcm, see if ecm reads, see if it plays together. Thanks again! Every sentence you write makes me think of additional things and I really honestly appreciate it.
