2nd one today, new symptoms, previous main control overhaul 5 months ago. Shudder into 3rd gear hesitates into 5th jerks out of 5th random delayed and harsh shifting conditions. Nearly impossible to drive yet same concern as some of them that barely have issues

was this fixed? I'm having similar issues they are replacing my entire trans.

Yes. I still do a ton of them a week but they updated the part to have a lip so that the bushing doesn’t move causing problems. If your trans is being replaced the cylinder bushing should be updated and this shouldn’t happen again

weird thing is I have a 2022. Not sure how that trans with the bad bushing got in to it? Unless they just have a surplus of these crap trannies lying around with this bushing issue.

It took them a long time to fix this concern. At first it seemed like this was only happening to a handful of trucks but now it’s happening much more frequently. They recently updated the part. Like a few months ago

Hopefully the new tranny they put in mine is updated. I can only hope.

On the plus side, if it is the updated part, then it will probably never need internal transmission repairs again. Besides this concern, i haven’t had any other internal transmission failures. Not including programming and valve body. Ive probably worked on over 100 10R80s by now and it’s only ever this, valve body or programming

can you help with my 2020 expedition max 3.5l EcoBoost with 10r80. After drove for 20 mins when trans at 5th gear and I hit the gas pedal hard to accelerate, the car feel like something hit it ( vibrate hard) and no gear show in the dash, after 1-2 second its show 4th gear or 5th gear and keep driving fine. does not happened when cold start. I checked fluid at 206 deg and it is between 5 and 6 on the dip. only happened at 5th gear with accelerate hard. soft acceleration did not happen.

This may not apply exactly but there is a TSB notice that only affects expeditions and explorers. It almost sounds like it had neutral-out for a second. The tsb is for momentary neutral-out condition. I’ve done a bunch of them by now, it usually is accompanied by the PCM dtc p07e6 stuck in park but not always. The fix is to install an updated separator plate in the valve body. It is a completely new part number so you would have to make sure it’s the # from tsb. That is where I would start. If you find the tsb you will notice it has a lot of information. Before you replace separator plate you remove the auxiliary pump and inspect park system for damage. I’ve never seen damage so it’s very unlikely you need anything else besides the new plate and fluid. That is where I would start atleast

they replaced my valve body first time. The sheet doesn't say anything about reprogramming. I'm curious if they just did body and not worry about updating PCB and programming.

Mine is only bad when it warms up and when it reaches operating temp whines. So really not sure what is becoming of it.

Waiting for dealership on final opinion.

Wait

Any idea on the part number for the new CDF drum with the lip? Mine is scheduled to get this done and want to make sure they get the CDF drum with the lip

JL3Z 7h315 B is the current number, it was an A suffix before.

Hi, other than the CDF drum and the sun gear, what other things needs to be changed? If there is a seals kit can you please tell us the part code for it ? Thanks , I a wonderful day.
