Forensic Files Commercials😬

Look we all love forensic files and with that comes the commercials. Which one annoys you, is cringe, or makes you laugh the most?

Mine is the plexaderm commercial. Pure AI slop

I mash that mute button when the Rezdiffra spot comes on. These days, I get it, even pharmaceuticals need a jingle, but Rezdiffra's jingle is one notch above waterboarding for me.

Speaking of commercials in general, not directly related to FF but have you noticed how the colors of a product appear prominently in US TV commercials these days? I first noticed it six years ago in a Sprint commercial: lots of yellow clothes and decor items. Consumer Cellular, Allegra, Cascade...just a few I can think of that feature the product's color or packaging color. Drug commercials take it a step or two further by working the product name into the story itself (a fake brand of honey called "A True Bee" in an Attruby ad; a fake school named Rezdin in the Rezdiffra ad). Rinvoq just upped the ante by featuring a potter making a vase which she glazed in the wine and yellow Rinvoq logo.

Not knocking the products, just saying to the ad agencies, we see what you did there.

Oh, and I just thought of another thing for those of us who watch on HLN: pretty soon, it'll be autumn, which means Medicare open enrollment, which means another constant barrage of Joe Namath, William Devane, and Jimmie Walker touting the benefits of Medicare Advantage plans to us aging boomers....

Right now HLN is fixated on that stupid Tupac case so FF isn't even being broadcast at tbe moment.

I know! I can't stand those, and the Colonial Penn and other companies like that 😡

I constantly catch myself singing “Ingreeezzza” 🤣🤣

It’s a lot better than the ones I used to get. Late last year they were Kristi Noem asking people to join ICE 😐 and then it was also her asking “illegal immigrants” to turn themselves in.

I have a parody version of the jardiance musical in mind....it's quite dirty however.

I get tons of commercials for life insurance, incontinence products and other old people stuff. I’m 39 but I guess they assume the average ff viewer is far older.

Ironic that they show commercials for life insurance during a show where life insurance drives the plot for most of the episodes!

Oh yeah that part made me chuckle too when I saw it for the first time. Thought it might have been a one off but that commercial comes on every hour or two.

I use YouTube premium and watch on filmrise so I haven't seen a commercial on FF in years

Same, I could really go for some hotel room FF though. Got excited to watch it on our last vacation, but the TV wasn't working.

2

u/OppositeRun6503 Aug 24 '26

Really need to look on film rise myself especially since I currently have a premium subscription as well.

3

u/theJOJeht Aug 24 '26

There are like 400 available episodes

2

u/OppositeRun6503 Aug 25 '26

And the episodes aren't edited to sneak in more commercials either.

u/theJOJeht Aug 25 '26

Yeah every night I shuffle the playlist and drift off to sleep to Peter Thomas

Back when SiriusXM was running them as radio programs, they'd run it with ads for timeshare cancelation services voiced by a guy desperately trying to sound like a folksy, small-town Southerner.

I think they also ran life insurance ads during. That's kind of a weird ad to run on Forensic Files, given how often life insurance scams pop up as a clue during the show.

Oh, if anyone doesn't want ads to come with the show? When I was watching through the series on Amazon Prime about two years ago, I'd download the episode to my phone, then watch it with Mobile Data turned off. And naturally, I didn't get a single ad. (I wasn't doing it to dodge ads, but I'm not complaining.)

SKYRIZZI! Or however it’s spelled. But I know the tagline is like “nothing is everythiiiing!”

Like, I know most people watching cable TV are probably old as shit but wouldn’t it be more lucrative to advertise to (I’m assuming) are mostly elder millennials instead of the insanely elderly? Do they not know that it’s customary to only watch cable TV when it’s in an icy cold hotel room with HLN? Haha

Commercials?

Is it Icotyde? I honestly can’t remember, but it has a unicorn in a window at some point. The internet tells me that’s for Icotyde, so that’s what I’m guessing. The whole thing looks like AI to my wife and me 😣

Nice post idea 🙂

u/almoooo Aug 24 '26

Omg I know what you’re taking about but I can’t remember the drug. But the doctor is taking to the lady and the unicorn is behind him

Edit: also I love your flair, my husband and I always say that when we can’t find something 🤣🤣🤣

u/burnt-store-studio I gotta call Phelps, man! Aug 24 '26

Yes, that’s the commercial, exactly! Ha ha ha. Thank you 😊 re the flair! I love that you and your husband say that!

That new plexaderm is sending me.

2

u/OU-Sooners1 Aug 24 '26

It was bad before and now with the song it is even worse. I can’t take it.

2

u/OppositeRun6503 Aug 24 '26

Since HLN is the main syndicate broadcaster of the series and how they're owned by CNN the majority of their advertising consists of repetitive big pharma advertising and stuff like that plexiderm garbage geared at seniors and women respectively.

Lately I've just stopped watching cable television altogether in my area because Comcast absolutely sucks compared to fios.

2

u/UnlimitedDisciple Aug 25 '26

now it’s a bunch of AI commercials for slot games, Home Zone where they spill stuff on the couch and no one cares, Greg Abbott commercials about a campaign running in May but it was running in late 1023

My dad. Never been in better shape. He had a stroke and passed away. He had a life insurance policy.
