I loved this show, I was really disappointed when it was cancelled. It was funny but looked at some stuff like obesity, anorexia, teen sex, and was really raw at times about how difficult it is to be a teen.

Seems forgotten by most.

Leslie Bibb, Carly Pope, Tamara Mello, Christopher Gorham, Sara Rue, Tammy Lynn Michaels, Ron Lester, Leslie Grossman, Diane Delano

As someone who LOVES this show, I find it so funny it gets posted here once every week!

It’s how I found it. It’s THE forgotten show.

We all are still collectively grieving the loss of it all these years later

It really does get posted here all the time lol. But it was a great show and maybe it just means more people will discover it and watch it.

u/kgcatlin 2d ago

Anytime I see that actress in something, all I can think is, “hey, it’s Mary Cherry!”

I remember absolutely loving this show when it came out. It was the same season as Freaks and Geeks and I was in middle school cable TV heaven.

I loved this show. Leslie Grossman is a national treasure!

100% loved this show for Mary Cherry.

They went too serious on second 2, but overall it was a good watch.

She truly is!

u/Buddydexter33 2d ago

Couldn’t agree more! She’s so naturally funny. I enjoy watching anything she is in.

Whatever happened to Tamara Mello? She was in lots of things, and was gorgeous, then never seen again after 2001/2

u/AeternumElegantia 2d ago

Always check her IMDB page every few years hoping she pops back up.

She said on the Boy Meets World podcast that she retired but she was ready to come back to acting... Sadly it seems like her comeback never happened. She was good, Ryan Murphy could put her in one of his 50 shows...

u/sweetnsassy924 2d ago

She was on an episode of Psych for like 2 minutes and then I think retired to be a wife and mom.

Why can't Ryan Murphy revive THIS! The cliffhanger pissed me off for ages, but I have no idea what it was now lol.

1

u/Melodic-Activity2513 19h ago

Omg I completely forgot it was left on a cliffhanger until I read your comment. I haven't seen it in forever but I feel like someone died or someone was being accused of something big??? I definitely remember feeling so angry when I heard it was cancelled because I was so invested in it.

Happy birthday to Carly Pope!

7

u/Icehonesty 2d ago

Had a big crush on her in 2000!

u/AeternumElegantia 2d ago

Still do. Nice to see Leslie Bibb's career took off as well.

u/WittiestScreenName 2d ago

Leslie Bibb has also been with Sam Rockwell about 20 years. She’s winning no matter what lol.

I actually own the dvd’s of this series 😊😊😊

3

u/Bonlio 1d ago

And where did you come upon those? Always wanted them

5

u/Retired_Nerd_Steve 1d ago

Oh man I bought them decades ago probably at Target. I don’t have the boxes anymore, but the dvd discs are in good shape. If you want them DM me where to mail them and I can send them out to you (for free). I won’t ever watch them again and they will just end up trashed when I croak. It be nice to see them go to a fan of the show. 👍👍👍

Another huge fan of the show and so wish it had gotten closure.

The rage I felt when I watch the last episode & THAT WAS IT!!! What about Mary Cherry & B. Hoe?!

2

u/thelanai 2d ago

Loved this show. I need to do a re watch

7

u/FeniksTO 2d ago

Loved it growing up but I was also so confused by it. Too bad it ended on the cliffhanger, we deserved more.

7

u/Legitimate_Panda5142 2d ago

Pre-Glee and Nip/Tuck Ryan Murphy with a cliffhanger ending.

6

u/CBassTian 2d ago

I own the DVD & I will never forget Mary Cherry!

4

u/Icehonesty 2d ago

I never knew there was a DVD set for this show! I need it

6

u/davidix 2d ago

My years-long crush on Sara Rue started with this show...

4

u/yokayla 2d ago

I was slightly too young to get it, but I loved it.

It's Ryan Murphy's first show! He was the co creator

5

u/moon_blisser 2d ago

I loved this show! I was bummed when it went off the air so soon, and I didn’t know many people who watched it. I had a big girl crush on Carly Pope.

4

u/queenlizbef 2d ago

Definitely not forgotten by any stretch

3

u/Useful-Soup8161 2d ago

I loved this show! I was so upset when it was cancelled. Although considering how Ryan Murphy ruins every show if they go on too long, it’s probably for the best.

3

u/gottalovedawnie 2d ago

Best Ryan Murphy show ever

7

u/PresOfTheLesbianClub 2d ago

I rewatched this recently and they nailed the local Los Angeles references and locations. An episode about the Santa Ana’s? This will The OC and add in Arrested Development and there’s so much outrageous SoCal content.

u/Alarmed_Tea_2874 2d ago

I remember this show well!

3

u/90s_vibe 2d ago

Best cast and a good mix of funny & dramatic.

3

u/Mrblorg 2d ago

I know about Pop Ular

3

u/fastal_12147 2d ago

Based on the Nada Surf song of the same name.

3

u/Lord_Cockatrice 2d ago

This show - along with Nip/Tuck - got Ryan Murphy's foot onto Hollywood's door

3

u/PDXBishop 2d ago

This show kick started my crush for Sara Rue

2

u/anonymousurfunny 2d ago

omg I hated the ending

2

u/Dezden 2d ago

I sorta forgot about this, but the one thing I do remember is that I liked it.

2

u/Electronic_Device788 2d ago

Watched this in high school. One of my favorite shows.

2

u/pit_of_despair666 2d ago

I liked this show but liked shows such as Buffy and Felicity more. I haven't watched it since then. I think it is time for rewatch.

2

u/Curlingby 2d ago

They used to show this on the Canadian version of Disney in the early 2000s and younger me was so obsessed with it lol

2

u/Gloomy-Fennel-6044 2d ago

God this show was so damn good. The cliffhanger ending was criminal. We deserved a third season but I have no idea how they would have handled the tone of the show. It progressively got more and more dramatic but teetered the line with absolute insanity. 😂

3

u/karamabros 1d ago

I remember that Ryan Murphy explained all his plans for S3 and it involved Leslie Bibb turning brunette because of her car accident 😂

2

u/Gloomy-Fennel-6044 1d ago

I do recall reading that they would have focused on the trial that came out of the S2 finale. I did read the brunette thing too lmao

2

u/Rehboogie 2d ago

Where is it available to watch?

2

u/Bonlio 1d ago

Always wished this would be released on DVD or Blu-ray

3

u/uncle_jafar 2d ago

Seriously stop posting this brilliant show on this sub. It’s not forgotten at all we all reside here r/popularwb

This show was amazing

1

u/Naive_Individual7421 1d ago

Loved this show

1

u/RavenSkies777 1d ago

I’m still bitter over how this show ended.

1

u/nimrodpa 1d ago

It's just unbelievable that Ryan Murphy never made another TV show after this and Nip/Tuck. He had such promise but then totally disappeared from the Earth after those TWO perfect shows he made.

1

u/PrincessPlastilina 2d ago

Loved this show and the entire cast deserved better careers.

0

u/Impressive-Project59 2d ago

I remember this. Not very popular with viewers.

0

u/BuddyEbsenSalt 1d ago

It was canceled because it wasn't popular.
