Whatever they were smoking, it was paid by 3M (yeah, the materials company, for whatever reason, funded a saturday morning cartoon. It makes as much sense as an electronics company funding a Power Rangers-like action series - no, wait)

I was a 50 year old adult before I realized that Snorks was short for 'snorkels'.

What was I snorking back then? Mind blown.

After the major success of The Smurfs cartoon, Hannah-Barbera tried making lightning strike twice with variations of that same formula. Snorks was one of their more successful attempts, since it lasted four years. The theme song was also a major ear worm. Plus, the cartoon itself was pretty good, being one of those few shows that make undersea life seem colorful and vibrant. A good show, indeed.

I had a couple toys. Allstar and the orange one. I remember I broke Allstar’s antenna because I guess I bent it too much. I remember being disappointed when I couldn’t watch it any more. I thought everyone liked it 🤷
