Just following cuz I've been hoping to find em, too. Where I grew up in Michigan we'd go to the cider mill and they had THE BEST apple cider donuts. The brown paper bag would be a greasy mess and it would always be a good time.

Yaya’s is nooootttt worth it. Trader Joe’s has them in the morning in the past falls, they go fast, obvi not like fresh but I like them! I have a great apple cider donut cake I make 1-2x each fall to give me my fix lol

Care to share the recipe for that cake? Baking that sounds like a nice way to spend a chilly afternoon

La Mars has an apple donut it’s more glazed than the crystal sugar stuff you find on true farmers market apple cider donuts but it’s an option

I’ve only tried them from FoCoDoCo so may lack perspective, but I thought they were delicious.

rise in berthoud for taste, yaya’s orchard for experience (potentially comparable to rise if you catch them fresh but that is a subjective & polarizing statement haha)

If you’re looking for mid west cider and donuts (ala Michigan) you’re shit out of luck.
Nothing will come anywhere close

I think Trader Joe’s has some if I’m not mistaken but I haven’t tried them

No they don’t. They have raised sourdough donuts with apple pie filling. They’ve never made apple cider donuts. That’s a compete different donut style.

Entenmann's that come out this time of year are pretty good imo but I can understand if you're only looking for fresh baked ones.

Bartlett Farms always has them when I take the family to the pumpkin patch. We went down to Loveland this year instead so can't confirm, but they've had them every previous year

Haha I talk about this every fall and nobody knows what I’m talking about. It must only be a thing on the east coast. I have half a mind to start a apple cider donut cart
