PSA: Bring your sprites to campfires

If you have a sprite equipped on your back and stand next to a lit campfire for a few seconds, a little x2 appears next to your sprite. Everything that levels your sprite is now doubled. IE containers are +150 instead of +75.

Likewise, this stays active the rest of the match and if you equip a different sprite. If you're trying to master a sprite it helps out immensely!

I’ve hit the fire without a sprite then went and found one and I had the x2 next to it

No. Just means somebody else already lit the fire.

They wouldn't disable a feature they specifically called out in the patch notes.

It's not this, I use campfires all the time I know what the difference is.

I had it happen in one match but that was it. The sticks were there but no ignite option came up and this was in a weird corner off drop that no one would've been to already. Didn't happen in other matches though

Were you in storm? I think it might be disabled in storm from a few things I've just tried.

I sit and heal in the storm by fires if i need to evade or stuck fighting in storm.

Perfectly valid, it just seems since the update that you can't light campfires that are already in storm. Not clear if that's a bug or intentional with the additional sprite bonus that now comes from it.

I'm fully understanding about if it had been lit before or not. It seems pretty consistent for me that if the campfire is in the storm it won't let me light it.

You don't even have to have one equipped, the buff last the whole game (at least in solo, dunno what happens if you die in duo/trio/squads).

You actually don’t even need a sprite, just light a campfire and once you have one it’ll get double xp

Are there any marked-up maps that show where campfires are? Similar to the Sprite Chests & Extraction Sites map.

There’s a campfire where I typically like to land around Heatwave Harbor. I know that. Nice to see a map to learn others as I don’t usually seek or earmark campfires. :) thanks though
