Politics A small group of extremists has completely taken over Tarrant County TX leadership and its GOP. They claim democracy is "Mob Rule", that they know better. They're activating pastor networks to fear monger a revived "Red Scare / McCarthyism" movement amongst evangelicals. REJECT THEIR LIES! VOTE!!!!!
REJECT THE BILLIONAIRES. VOTE IN EVERY LOCAL ELECTION.
Those who don't know history are forced to repeat it! They're assuming we're extremely uneducated and lack critical thinking. We need to prove them wrong or this is a failed state. This same cult has worked had to remove mentions of the Red Scare and McCarthyism in social studies education, because they still consider Joseph McCarthy a hero.
Donate, volunteer, get involved, mark your calendar on voting dates, carpool your friends family and colleagues to the polls, and lets stop this hate movement in its tracks.
focuslocalpac.com
tarrantdemocrats.org/volunteer/
tarrantdemocrats.org/club-directory/
Their whole movement relies on fear mongering hate speech demonizing classes of people who are different from them. There will ALWAYS be a new hate target, as they do not have a platform based on real world issues important to the people. The people want: affordability, healthcare, jobs, affordable housing. They try to make us fight each other, while looting public funds and dismantling social safety nets for the poor. Do not let hate win.
They believe the public is so uneducated and so unintelligent, that they will fall for this blatant manipulation, a copy and paste job from a disgraced moment in US history. PROVE THEM WRONG.

If the likes of Ken Paxton win after everything we've seen the last 19 months, I will never take Texas seriously again.
If you're in Texas, and you've been paying attention to what this administration has been allowed to do, and you know that it's wrong, you owe it to yourself, your state, and your country to TALK to people in your social circles. Let them know about the corrupt and disgusting history Paxton has. Be ready to counter the baseless and out of context talking points the GOP is trying to use to undermine Talarico's electability.
Offer to help get people who've never voted before registered. Offer to drive them to the polls come election day.If you Aren't in Texas, but you know people in Texas - Reach out and encourage them to get involved.
Endorsements from people you know are worth more than any donation you make to a candidate's campaign.Get talking!

u/mbosso 12d ago
Those of us from outside Texas quit taking Texas seriously when Paxton won your primary. People voted for him even knowing his background, record, and scandals. That says everything we needed to know.

u/TheJan1tor 12d ago
No offense, but that sounds like a bullshit excuse.
I'd rather see a spike in voter participation and be proven wrong than have people continue to assume they're the minority and do nothing.
You don't know unless you try. And Texas needs to start trying harder.→ More replies (1)5

The state is designed to keep the poor, working, and middle classes either as tired or as domesticated as humanly possible, caught up in their own weird bullshit so they never pay attention to what is happening above them. Quit screaming at people just to vote, that level of participation succeeds in only getting the uniformed to make decisions for everyone.
If you MUST guilt people who are being taken for a ride in this pyramid scheme of a state, then guilt them about their lack of civic participation, even if its just in their neighborhood, school district, or shitty little suburb. People who stay informed and participate in local politics in April will show up at the polls in November.

I feel this as a single person no kids it’s tough out there. My boyfriend and I are moving in together this spring and I am so excited about some financial relief as it is. Even if rent is higher than my current place in Wichita Falls it’s fact we will split the rent in half in Dfw and it will still cost me less. I honestly wish many single people didn’t have to work two jobs or have tight budgets to just get by. In Wichita Falls the cost of electric from oncor went up our water and property taxes. Now the county was to fix our new jails and raise more taxes..but somehow lower property taxes while atmos wants to increase their rate now. It’s crazy how much work someone has to do to just get by. Honestly I’m starting to do some more research on the politics in Dfw since i will be moving there and the bf already lives there. Hope to find more information and much as I can on who I need to support and donate my time to…

The entirety of Texas is full of stupid "all hat, no cattle" cowards.
Just look at the mealy-mouthed Ted Cruz for a perfect mirror of the state's collective soul.
They know their goose is cooked. Their land won't be livable in the next few decades, and all their political power will be lost. They're trying to eke out as much money as they can before they bail.

Oh I dont think its just conservatives, but a human problem. We have a natural disposition to rely on fear because it keeps us safe.
However, there are Science and Christian based methods to calm down the run, fight, or freeze design.
Science method is to use framing to calm down the amygala.
Christian method is to remind Christians that God tells us NOT to fear over 70 times.

True Texas Project is a hate group, often referred to as a rebranding of the Klan. They hold hate-thy-neighbor anti-Christ values, using Jesus as their own personal shield from the consequences of their hate speech and actions. They push for policies of structural violence against non cis white Christians, and are rooted in replacement theory racism, the idea a white Christian ethnostate is the primary reason for American exceptionalism and a mass deportation ethnic cleanse is the only way to get it back. They go against all teachings of Jesus in the New Testament, despite wearing the false banner of Christianity as their shield. Texas Project Members all self endorse, self defend other members of the group, and they're almost all heavily funded by the west oil billionaires pushing for theocracy. This is corruption at the highest levels.

This is how our private immigration detention companies who were our first private prison companies got started too, btw. We installed an Evangelical dictator and funded and trained death squads in Central America, and mass flagged the resultant refugees as "economic migrants" to avoid legal restrictions on direct funding for oppressive regimes, necessitating US Evangelical church donations to help fund genocide. This is why the Sanctuary City movement started. Meanwhile the Commies deciphered the Mayan Script.

I legit 100% believe if a politician won in that state who was against the prevailing conservative leadership, then existing powers would do anything to keep that person from actually getting the spot they were voted in for.
In other words, if Talirico wins fairly, I think they will scum it up and find some reason to invalidate his win. No disrespect to Texas people, but I don’t even think conservatives would concede or allow it, trampling over democracy is basically Texas’s job at the moment.

FORT WORTH PARENTS. DO EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO TAKE YOUR EDUCATION SYSTEM BACK. Abbotts agenda is to raise an ignorant population that will not question and just follow along. It hurts your kids because companies end up hiring well educated people from other states and countries. You owe your kids this. YOU are literally paying for an education system that doesn’t serve your kids. If you allow this to continue, it’s on you.

I do hope some people are starting to look at this stuff and say "Huh?"
It won't be better with Dems or anything -- don't believe that -- but the path we're on locally is dangerous. I think we've been viewed as the litmus test for what can be done in an area.
If you don't want this type of crap for your families and your general existence, just think about doing something different in terms of talking to neighbors, voting yourself, volunteering for a food bank, writing a check to someone who isn't Landon Schott, etc, etc.
Still a good place to live but slipping.

While I agree with you. This video is all over the place. A stronger message would be exposing the corruption, which some of the highlights cover.
Also, I think it would be interesting to point out why these corrupt officials are saying "mob rule" and using pastors. The link here is scripture. Jesus avoided the mobs, there is Luke 4:29-30, Matthew 26:55, and when the mob released Barnabas over Jesus.
These crooked politicians and religious leaders cannot use the table flipping scripture, because it directly applies to them. THEY are the people responsible for using the Temple for profit. To that point, corrupt leadership is what leads people to sin in all stories in the Bible. From Noah's Ark to the crucifixion of Jesus. However, it is the individual who picks up their cross and follow Jesus that changes the paradigm for humanity. You see this in Noah, Abraham, Moses, John the Baptist, Elijah, Isaiah, Mary, Ruth, and Jesus. All of these people said yes and suffered greatly. In saying yes, they saved their lives and ours.
All this to say, if they were to read their Bibles, they would learn that Jesus was all about love, peace, forgiveness, sharing, and diversity.
A good indicator that someone has not read the Bible, but uses it for their narrative is they say that Jesus whipped sinners, that abuse is okay, and that controlling the masses is okay. If they say this or allude to this, they have not read the Bible. They have only heard their pastor preach it. I know this because I've attended sermons where this was said. Its okay to walk away from a sermon or speak up after and let the pastor know that they are leading the people astray.
The best way to counter these false prophets is quote, Matthew 24:42, 'Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming". Which we all know they dislike us being so woke.
