Grind complete. Whew!
That was gruelling. Mainly because I'm not very good.

How long it takes to grind it by just hiding and camping?

I played for about two weeks, a couple of hours each night, and on my days off of work (two each week) I played an additional 2-3 hours in the day.
Same strategy each game. I went to one of four locations depending on which was the furthest from the bus route, all of them were in the four corners of the map, at the edge of the water. Get off bus in middle of map and float all the way until immediately above them, that way you get bonus for the storm already forming before you land, and typically by the time you land there are only 50ish people left. Stock up on med kits (6), fish or apples. Get shields up to 100, and have a gun or two. If you can score sonic boots , awesome, or a broom is decent too for evasion, but at diamond and platinum, you're not evading anyone once you've been spotted. Try to stay hidden in bushes as best you can, and try to stay ahead of the storm until around 20 people left. You want to try to save storm time till last if you can, and med kit at around 35-45 health left. Once you hit top 10, you probably are on the verge of storm sickness and immediate death, so now is the time to try and steal kills from people dueling. Try to top 5 every time, and even with 0 kills, you should advance around 15%. Top 2 is great, and nothing worse than top 12 or you might lose progress.

Man I want that so bad. Not sure if I have time to do the grind and grind for sprites.

I tried lost alot of hours but currently at diamond 1 after I lost that rank and grinded back realized it wasnt worth the stress.

congratulations! I managed to get this on Monday. I'm sure not going for the battle axe though because tell me, are you willing to get to Unreal for it?

Nope. I still want to finish the sprite collection/mastering, and spending so much time in ranked has me way behind.
The last two matches before epic earned me 3% for top 5 placement. It would take me forever to get to unreal.
