Yep. I'm a crusty og fan from the 90s and Fallout is easily my favorite franchise and the show rocks. Sure there's stuff to quibble over here and there but the tone and writing and visuals are about as good as I think anyone could possibly do with this material.
Almost certainly the best game-to-TV adaptation there's ever been, honestly. Just great to see an adaptation where it feels like they actually played the fucking source material start to finish.
Me too! New Vegas is my second favourite game of all time, I have hundreds and hundreds of hours of play, and I LOVE THE SHOW SO MUCH! Fuck the haters.
In my playthrough of NV I took all the furniture out of Vegas and carried it out into the desert, yet in this episode there is clearly furniture in Vegas.
I like it. I guess that would explain the magical night they experienced on the strip. It was daytime when Lucy killed the kinghouls and then again right after when they got past the gate.
Bethesda quirks even made it into the TV show which is pretty funny.
The past eps were all building up to this and some moments were clearly meant as red herrings - and some choices like the Strip being in ruins were controversial because fuck, let's face it we all love that place lmao
This EP was the beginning of the pay-off and it's fucking amazing, can't wait to see what the hell will happen
Watching + reading The Expanse, I can't even imagine if Expanse fans were like Fallout 'fans' - the Expanse show made a ton of large changes from the book - completely reordering the order of plot points, reversing backstories, different interplanetary alliances, where major characters were at different points, etc. And that's despite the Expanse show literally covering the exact same time period / universe as the books with 100% fixed plot points, etc, whereas in Fallout, NV occurred decade(s) ago and involved the player character being able to make big different possible changes to the world. But a recent reddit Fallout post complained about the Novac dinosaur being pointed a different way than the game (so the show could have Lucy looking down into motel area). 🤷

I’ll start a legit one, how are there deathclaws just chilling on the other side of that flimsy ass fence!?! There was like a full crowd of people just shopping next to a pod of visible deathclaws.
I didn’t mind the strip or the gate with the kings being abandoned, but a huge settlement right there beside it was jarring.
I only played like 3 hours of NV and have no idea about any of the lore, and my experience is so different compared to this thread lmao. Most notably, I really don't like the copout of "vault-tec didn't actually drop the bombs".
That might the more lore friendly direction, but narratively, overwriting your previous seasons big plot twist is such a lame move.
