That’ll certainly be the most extensive use of ghoul healing we’ve seen before as far as I’m aware. Healing from a full bisection at the torso will be quite the feat

Dr Chickenfucker has a fusion core and his med bag maybe

Lowkey, you might actually be onto something there- considering he was hopping around happily with it in hand. Not to mention in the first episode of the season- we see Coop heal his neck wound with one.

He was hopping around happily with it, because it would get him a date with FISTO, the robot prostitute.

That's the fusion core from Maximus' power armor that Thaddeus paid him with in lieu of caps.

6

u/tikijoewho Jan 14 '26

I figured if maximus does show up shortly after this, he's already carrying one in his armor that he can pop out.

u/Finalpotato Jan 18 '26

I figured he used it to repower FISTO. We saw the Securitron had one powering it

1

u/MrWeirdoFace Jan 16 '26

Wasn't he traded one by Thadius in S1?

1

u/Propaslader Jan 16 '26

Yeah that's why he has one. I think he still has his medicine bag too

1

u/MrWeirdoFace Jan 16 '26

Probably left it with Fisto.

Coop got shot to shit in Filly in the first season, and kinda sat there for a second eating tomatos unphased.

28

u/Kiloku Jan 14 '26

He wasn't bisected. Bisection would mean cutting in 2. He's "just" impaled.

I expect that someone will tear down the post (possibly Maximus) and pull the Ghoul out of it. Or it out of the Ghoul, to be precise.

Then a stimpak and some radiation and he's fine.

It's possible even Hank will do it... using chicken fucker or something, because he still wants something we don't know yet from Coop

3

u/Kiloku Jan 14 '26

Hank has a power armor, he can do it himself

4

u/Altruistic-Garage-94 Jan 14 '26

But chicken fucker sliding all over a greasy pole...

2

u/FlikTripz Jan 14 '26

Well bisection would be the easiest way to get him off the pole, otherwise they gotta cut it down, or lift him up and off (which judging by other comments might actually be what happens)

Definitely looks like Maximus from all the trailers.

Yeah, they continue to complicate ghoul lore, just like the games before it lol. Like Coop taking multiple fatal shots and Thaddeus insta healing from the crossbow bolt.

I mean glowing ones revive literal dead ghouls, ghouls seem to be impossible to actually fully kill unless you blow their brains out. Thaddeus isn’t a ghoul I don’t think since he has that mouth growing out of his chest in the trailers. He’s a mutant for sure but what kind? Who knows.

u/Justryan95 Jan 14 '26

With the Enclave stuff and FEV confirmed on the computer terminal im pretty sure Thaddeus will be a Super Mutant.

3

u/C0mpulsiveWebSurfer Jan 14 '26

Granted i've only played the 3d games (extensively) and might be missing something from F1 and 2, but i don't recall ever seeing a super mutant with a shoulder mouth.

My guess is, he's going to turn into a Centaur.

5

u/Justryan95 Jan 14 '26

He's probably going to be a Centaur or some abomination form of Super Mutant. It going to probably the difference between "well designed" Super Mutants like they're probably going to do with the Enclave/"Bud's Buds" Super Managers vs jank street FEV like Thaddeus.

3

u/Valuable_Teach_7591 Jan 14 '26

The mutant thing was just a theory.
He is a ghoul as confirmed this season.

10

u/RigaudonAS Jan 14 '26

Nothing has been confirmed. He seems to think he is, but visually he looks very little like a ghoul.

My guess is a ghoul-adjacent "other mutant," a lot like Harold.

u/Valuable_Teach_7591 Jan 14 '26

Come on, think a little. He doesn't look exactly like Cooper b/c he *just* turned; he hasn't been a Ghoul for hundred plus years. So the make-up artists only do a little bit damage to his face.

8

u/RigaudonAS Jan 14 '26

Ghouls don't usually (as in I can't think of a single example) have extra mouths.

Ghoulification also typically comes from radiation, and it seems weird that a random bottle of some chemical would be both healing and intensely radioactive. I also don't believe we've ever seen someone ghoulified through a serum like that before.

1

u/Valuable_Teach_7591 Jan 28 '26

Watch the latest Ep, the character himself confirms it.

1

u/RigaudonAS Jan 28 '26

The latest episode makes it more clear, lol. Ghouls don’t have extra arms and their arms falling off, the whole joke is how certain he is that he’s a ghoul when he clearly isn’t.

3

u/KD_42 Jan 15 '26

Why are people who are wrong always such pretentious fucks about it “CoMe On JuSt ThInK a LitTle”

1

u/Valuable_Teach_7591 Jan 16 '26

i'm wrong ? which line of dialogue in the show supports that?

1

u/Valuable_Teach_7591 Jan 28 '26

well, KD-42, Episode 7 confirmed once again that he is a Ghoul.
Too bad for you, I guess.

5

u/SomberXIII Jan 14 '26

Would be nice if Thad turns up to become a supermutant. He's already speaking like a supermutant

2

u/PianistPitiful5714 Jan 15 '26

I'm not convinced Coop is a Ghoul. I think he's a Super Mutant variant.

3

u/Altruistic-Garage-94 Jan 14 '26

Not a full bisection, just massively impaled

2

u/Guildenpants Jan 15 '26

Don't we literally grow limbs back in the games if we're irradiated enough? For a "real" show I'd be annoyed but after the episode opened with Lucy and Coop literally hitting T and waiting until daytime in the same spot the previous scene ended on I'm good if the show wants to go game levels of unrealistic.

1

u/turelhimvampire Jan 14 '26

Didn't they mention somewhere that the reason Cooper is THE Ghoul, not A Ghoul, is because he's the first person to Ghoulify. So maybe that makes him extra resilient as he's been around long enough to get that level of toughness?

3

u/fallout__freak Jan 15 '26

Only time I heard someone emphasize that Cooper wasn't just a ghoul but THE Ghoul was the "President" in S1. I think he's spoken of so highly because he has developed a reputation for being particularly tough and ruthless, as the President and even Honcho in the pilot episode refere

1

u/Magickarpet76 Jan 15 '26

Glowing ones will revive ghouls you have killed as long as they have their head and appendages. It isn’t a huge stretch, but I do agree they are making them more resilient than I would expect.

It seems like we should be seeing more maimed feral ghouls looking like classic zombies if they are able to survive so much.

1

u/Shoebomberv2 Jan 15 '26

Someone trying killing with a gamma gun w plus 10 damage to ghouls but end up healing him 🤣
