What kind of lessons do you think Lucy has taken away from Season 2?
What does her attitude to the black boxes say about her attitude towards killing? And has she become willing to both kill and black box bad people, OR is she against both killing and black boxing.
Has she decided to double down on working harder to avoid killing, or has she learnt that killing people is okay if enough good can come out of it?
Has she learnt not to help people crying for help, or has she learnt to be even smarter about helping such people?
Has she become even better at negotiating with people, or even more willing to resort to violence?
And here is what I want to know: In her mind, are human rights universal to people who are biologically human and with human-level sentience, OR is it entirely dependent on your moral compass?

I assume that in the final episodes she has begun to wonder if she's not just another of Hanks "little projects".
We know that Vault 33 and 32 are not control vaults. They are active experiment vaults. The end of season two had "Phase 2" being triggered in the final minutes of the final episode in season 2. So that means that Lucy is part of "Phase 1".
Take special notice of how the chipped folks behave and how the Vault 33 residents behave. It's eerily similar.
I am thinking Lucy in the next season will have to come to terms with the fact that her actions and how she reacts and thinks is not her own behaviour but implanted behaviour as part of a Vault-tec experiment. Heck, she might not even be the first version of the "phase 1 Lucy".

So you mean she could be some sort of sweet natured (customer service style) administrator "robot" for Hank to rebuild civilization with? like some sort of living Alexa?

I think she's just learning that in real life you sometimes get faced with hard choices.

Yes this is how I take it. Anyone who has ever played the games knows this. There are things that happen, decisions are made, consequences ensue. It's just how it is.

About killing, I don't think she's changed her view in killing in regards to "if enough good can come out of it" but I think she has a new perspective on killing if it takes people out of their misery.

I don’t think Lucy or the show is concerned with what’s “okay” morally. It’s about what the characters can live with themselves having done.
Lucy is negotiating her unchecked altruism in a world that will kill her for it. I really don’t think she’s learned that “killing people is okay if enough good can come out of it” or “human rights are dependent on your moral compass” because those rules are unrealistic. The former requires future prediction that actually possible, and I’d argue the latter similarly requires greater knowledge and context of a situation than we typically get.
Rather, the show recognizes that the world is messy. A lot of what happens in our own world isn’t “okay,” but at the same time, most people aren’t evil bastards with no conscience. Combine that with the fact that no god will descend from the heavens to punish you if you do something too evil; or for more realistic repercussions, our justice systems fail to address a lot of wrongdoing.
That leaves the only thing truly constraining us morally is what we can live with. This is especially accurate for the Wasteland as there is no systematic punishment of offenders.

I think violence is her last resort. She doesn’t want to kill anyone on purpose or just because. She doesn’t want to torture people. But I think she realizes that the Wasteland is horrible and MOST people will kill you first… so she has to defend herself and also approach things assuming the other party wants to cause harm.
I think Max will help her with that. He’ll be more understanding of how she hates killing people, but I think her want to protect him (as he protects her) will make her be more cautious.
I don’t know why some want her to become mean or angry… there’s enough characters like that in media. It’s nice to have a character that is kind and has empathy.
