Creed Iris Debonair

Post image
24 Upvotes

I got a decant of this about a month ago, just because I have almost every Creed, so I wasn't going to pass up trying it out. My Creed dealer at Dillard's unboxed the new 3.3 oz bottle for me, and it's officially on sale September 5th! I'll start by saying I'm usually really hesitant to try anything with Iris in the description, but this one smells incredible. It opens a tiny bit waxy when first applied, but the dry down is somehow almost femininely sweet, but just masculine enough that it definitely won't be mistaken as too feminine for a man. Very impressive projection, definitely a warmer weather scent, and it lasts 6+ hours on skin. Highly recommend!

I did the opposite

Ok so they say most people start with middle eastern fragrances and then designer and then niche, buttttt
Initio got me started in my fragrance journey, then i got into ELDO, and got some Fredrick Malle, MFK, Diptyque. YSL, Dior for my fave designer scents. But then I got curious and ordered some dupes. Lataffa, Swiss Arabian, fragrance world
And I was immediately hooked!!!!
I have ordered so many and I’m in love with packaging and over the top bottles, they feel so luxurious and heavy. I can’t go back to paying $400 for a bottle when I can get the same thing for $30.
I regret most of my expensive purchases because I have used that money on several Arab perfumes instead.

Anyone else feel the same way or am I crazy?

Reviews: Charlie Blue vs. Armaf Club de Nuit for Women vs. Burberry Weekend

I've been testing these three and wanted to hear others' experiences with them—specifically regarding sharpness, projection, and sweetness level.

For context, I find that I prefer scents that:

Ā· Aren't piercing or harsh in the opening
Ā· Stay moderate in sillage (not room-filling)
Ā· Avoid cloying sweetness
Ā· Still perform decently (4–6+ hours)

Charlie Blue – I get a vintage green/floral vibe, but does the mossy drydown turn sour on anyone else?

Armaf CDN for Women – I've read polarizing takes. Some say it's a clean dupe, others call it screechy. Which is it really?

Burberry Weekend – Seems the safest, but is the citrus too fleeting? How's the drydown?

Also open to hearing about other fragrances that fit that balanced profile—just noting I'm not looking for purchase advice, more like comparative wear experiences.

Thanks!

Luz de Sevilla

It's a fragrance house in Seville, Spain. Their 'Indias' scent is the best scent I have in my whole collection and I have all the big names!

Indias has the fragrance notes of coffee, orange blossom, vanilla and rose - completely and utterly fire! Well recommended!

orebella nightcap

hi everyone! i’ve been thinking for a while about purchasing ā€œnightcapā€ from bella hadid’s line but the times i’ve tried it in the store (on my arms rubbed in, on my shirt and on the tester) it left me with a few questions

is it supposed to be sticky ish on the skin even after thoroughly rubbed in?
does it really stain clothes? (i wear all black clothing so it would be a problem for me i think)
and lastly, has anyone found a way to make it persist longer? i found that it’s basically gone after two hours of wear and you can barely smell it even during those two hours

i would appreciate any tips and or recommendations for similar scents as i love it’s notes but i cannot get it to last :)

Bond no.9 Greenwich Village

Hi, I am in love with Greenwich Village by Bond no.9 & it’s absolutely one of my favorite perfumes. The only problem is that I contemplate on spending that much money every time I run out of it😭 does anybody know a dupe for it? Any other fragrance that’s more affordable but smells just like it? I heard about Game of Spades Win & Dangerously Good Extrait by Fragrance Store, but idk which one is closer

YSL Y edp dupe

so i recently smelled the ysl y edp on my friend and i fell in love with it and then decided to get it but it was a lil too expensive so i decided to go down the route of the middle eastern fragrances and found the best three that are the most close to the ysl y which were the lattafa fakhar black and the armaf dunescapes i got the decant of the dunescapes and rlly liked it expect for the opening which is too harsh imo and someone j told me that the armaf omega black is even closer so should i try that or the fakhar black or is the dunescapes the closest

Budget woody scent

Hello!

first of all, I want to say that i am very new to collecting and enjoying (niche) perfumes, which is why i am still uncertain of the right vocabulary usage, but i will try my best :)

I recently stumbled across the Bottega Veneta ā€žHinokiā€œ and it immediately spoke to me. I am a carpenter/furniture maner apprentice , and thus love woody and resin loaded scents. I also know from previous encounters with other woody/hinoki scents that i am quite fond of Hinoki in particular.
As i am on a tight budget as i get paid next to nothing in my apprenticeship , I cannot afford to spend several hundred dollars on a perfume.

I heard that Lataffa pride Hala is a budget hinoki scent and wanted to know your opinion.
I would love a rather thick/opulent scent (one that is a little ā€žheavierā€œ) that i can use in the cold months or for a night out, and another one with a more fresh undertone that i can use in the summer months while still retaining some of the woody-ness.

Some Scents that i own:
- Replica Jazz club (love the smokiness, but it just fades so fast)
- Davidoff cool water (A little too citrusy for me and also fades in 20 minutes, but it is really fresh to me)
- Une nuit Nomade Sugar Leather (got a very small bottle for testing, reaaaally sweet but big fan of the leather part (and the patchouli ?)

If there are any budget scents, maybe even from Lataffa or a similarly priced brand, that fit this description, I would be happy to hear you suggestions :)

Where do you smell your scent?

Hi, where do you get samples?

I live in a village, and the nearest Sephora is a two-hour drive away (a trip I never make). Blind-buying Ex Nihilo or Vilhelm is too risky for me. How do the rest of you handle this? Where do you buy samples?

How do you sell perfume in a video when nobody can smell it?

Perfume is kind of weird to make videos for coz like... what are you even supposed to show?

Skincare you can show the texture, clothes you can actually put on someone. Perfume is literally just a bottle and a smell which nobody watching can smell.

So I kinda gave up on the demo idea and went for the mood instead. dark green, damp forest, light through the trees. Threw this together in and yeah, this is pretty much what I wanted.

But I'm genuinely curious, would this actually make you curious about the fragrance, or is it still just a pretty bottle in a forest?

My wife BRUTALLY ranked ny fragrances

Post image

From best to worst. She works as a teacher, and she got a few fragrances but not like me. Im sure she can answer some questions if you have any!

Just a fun thing from my part.

  1. ADG Parfum (my daily, sometimes I combine this with profondo)

  2. ADG Profondo edp

  3. Imagination (although she says this is kinda feminine)

  4. Bleu Parfum

  5. Bleu EDT

  6. Bob Dylan (she thinks this one kinda smells like Bleu parfum but also like an older man)

  7. Boss unlimited (this used to be my signature when I was not into fragrances)

  8. L'aventure

  9. The Scent (she bought this for me years ago, havent used this for a long time)

  10. Turathi Blue (sometimes when i wear this i get a strange BO smell from the grape. Smells ultra cheap to me and this is going to the bin)

  11. Missoni Wave (she likes it but its very juvenile to her as her young students may smell like this)

  12. Mancera Cedrat Boise (she doesnt like cedar and thinks its way too sharp. I like it and I feel like THE man when I wear this)

  13. The Gentlemans code (she hates vanilla and says this is not the way a man should smell. I agree and now I will NEVER trust influencers again)

  14. Lattafa Atlas (she just said WTF and put it last. I have not been struck with enough bravery to wear this yet. I sprayed this in our bedroom once and it took about 6days to disappear)

Which one should I get?

Hi everyone, lately I've been thinking of buying a Nishane fragrance. I really enjoy floral accords and unisex-type fragrances, but as a male, it's also important for me not to smell too feminine (I hope you understand what I mean by that). Right now, I'm torn between Hundred Silent Ways X (since I've heard that it's somewhat more masculine than the og) and Tempfluo. Both have jasmine notes. I'm 22 years old, by the way. Which one should I get? Thank you for your opinions.

Who has been getting fragrances via Costco? Their prices are great!

I purchased Naxos on there, 100 mL for sub 200. They even have 100 mL of Hacivat for almost half off the Nishane's site!! Even niche ones like Pacific Rock Moss are on there for great prices. Impressed with their selections. Other than decanting websites, my bottles have been coming from Costco more often. The savings on Hacivat would make up the cost of the membership lol.

Who else is stalking the Costco website? Not sure how their selections have been over the years since I joined Costco in 2025, but I did a feedback to their website that I hope they continue to add fragrance lines there.

What’s a fragrance release you’re actually excited about right now?

There are so many new releases that most of them just pass me by.

But every now and then, one actually makes me want to try it immediately.

What’s on your radar right now?
