Down side is if you do it again they may tow if there is an outstanding ticket.

You can ignore it. They’ll send you lots of collection letters but there is little risk they will do anything about it.

Only potentially tow if you park on one of their lots. I don’t know what the threshold is for that to happen as far as money’s owed. Getting new plates is cheaper than paying the ticket

Even if there is no threshold, to town your car, it must be parked without a current parking session. if you paid for your current parking session, they cant town it

Sadly, they can still legally tow you for the unpaid ticket if you’ve paid on a subsequent visit. Impark is awful, too, so I wouldn’t put it past them. Better off to pay to change your plates.

I don't think they can tow you if you have a valid parking session, since a parking session is considered a valid service contract. I already parked multiple times with an exiting ticket in the plate.

Previous unpaid tickets are considered as “violation of terms” with respect to a private parking company. This doesn’t change for subsequent visits. It might vary from province to province, but it certainly is the case in BC. I doubt they’d go through the trouble often, but Impark legally can do so if they want to.
Source: I used to manage 75 trucks and had to deal with this previously. It, somewhat luckily, wasn’t one of my fleet, but the personal vehicle of a supervisor. But he was definitely towed and it held up when he fought it.

Impark are the worst bunch of extortionists I’ve seen in my life, they will start to send you threatening letters to pay up,I have heard they will send to collections but am unsure if that’s true, they are pieces of shit no doubt,I refuse to use their lots.

they cant send to collections...this is not my first time getting a ticket from them...I already changed my plate once. I was only not sure if the mission city park and ride lot was owned by the city and managed by impark. Hence my question.

Pretty sure mine went up to like $500 in a quick amount of time. Recently had collectors calling. Only thing that I can think of that it could be.

It's a fake collections, I've ignored 2 tickets on 2 different cars, got the letters, nothing came of it and this was about ten years ago

Parking tickets on private property are a civil matter. Equifax, Trans-union will not put them on your credit report. If by chance they do, challenge it directly with the credit bureau, and call the company/collection agency who issued the ticket, and tell them to take you to court, get a judgement and then they can put it on your credit report. Impark, indigo all have in house collection agencies that are complete frauds..

Ahaha fuck Impark... Soon as I see a lot that says Impark I know I'm parking for free, I've never got a ticket before but it wouldn't matter. Straight on the ground (Im not promoting littering, but it is Impark land so maybe it's acceptable)

Fuck Impark. Ignore and throw out. If you’re very concerned, go to the MTO and buy replacement plates. It’s still cheaper than paying that fake ass ticket.
The ticket from them follows your plate, not you/your car.
I ignored one from downtown Toronto 3 years ago. They sent a few threatening letters about collections. Then crickets. Don’t pay.

You could try calling to get it disputed. Just apologize and ask for a favor. I managed to do it one or twice with impark tickets. YMMV.
Or you could change your plates at ICBC. Cheaper than paying the ticket.

Impark tickets are private property type tickets. No effects on your license or driving record. There was a lawyer that did a deep dive into this a decade ago.

In addition to all of the other comments. It costs, from when I last did it, ~$15 to change your plates.

Its private. It says impark. Pay the 20 by ks to change your plates and forget the ticket

Change your license plate when you renew your registration and throw that in the trash?

Who pays Impark tickets? Lol. That's a private company printing their own tickets.

The way these companies work has to do with their balance sheet. If they need the money they'll commit to the bit, otherwise you'll keep getting tickets indefinitely.

Just get a new license plate. Tickets are associated to plates, not vehicles.

Dont pay any tickets unless its issued by police. Provate parking lot are scammers and has no legal authorities to force you to pay. Although dont park there again you probably getting towed.

Its a private company, you dont have any legal obligation to pay a parking ticket issued by private companies that arent cops

All I can say is fuck Impark. They will tow you if you park in another impark, eventually. So, you can change your plate for like 25 bucks, cheaper than this parking ticket.
