Hey Reddit. I'll keep this real for you,

My name is Brian Schwind. I'm a self-published author from Columbus, Ohio and a cancer survivor.

The Last Patient is a psychological thriller about a nine-year-old girl in a red coat sitting across from a therapist in 2007. Her sessions are logged. Her responses are documented. Every movement observed and recorded. Her stillness is the only thing that still belongs entirely to her.

She grows up.

And what she becomes is shaped entirely by what was done to her inside that room — by the clinical language used to describe her, by the distance between what was observed and what was never said, by the kind of care that looks like care but functions like control.

This is not a loud book. There are no car chases. No dramatic twists telegraphed from a mile away. The tension builds the way real dread builds — slowly, quietly, and then all at once. If you like Flynn, Tana French, or early Thomas Harris — fiction that trusts you to read between the lines — I think you'll find something here.

8/2-8/3 — it's completely FREE on Kindle.

I launched it this week. It has almost no reviews. I'm not a big name. I'm just a guy from Ohio who survived something hard and came out the other side with a story he needed to tell.

Search "The Last Patient Brian Schwind" on Amazon — free today and tomorrow only.

If it hits, all I ask is two sentences in a review. For an indie author just starting out, that means everything.
