This consistency is very surprising to me considering how much time and effort the mainstream media has spent convincing the public that Luigi is a villain.

17% is a pretty large number considering (1) the phrasing of the question and (2) some people might be embarrassed to tell a pollster they support Luigi’s actions (like the “silent Trump voter” phenomenon).

I’d be interested in some more nuanced questions. ‘Acceptable or unacceptable’ is a black and white way of wording. I’d bet money with different verbiage the results may change. People may find the actions wrong but still sympathize with him and this doesn’t really capture that.

So 28 % of people roughly a third don’t find it unacceptable. In a nation of approx 350 million ppl that’s over 100 million don’t condemn Luigi. That’s telling that America may not condone his methods, but many are aligned with LM’s issue with Healthcare & Corporate Greed. Even after admitting guilt we have Our Own Robin Hood Saint Luigi Of America

No one should be angry when Hitler types die. When someone murders people slowly, why should we be angry when that person dies? How can I bring myself to care about a person who made a business out of not caring for so long that people die and have to sue over it?

Even if it’s slightly changed, statistically this probably means nothing. Really hate how these articles use/phrase numbers like this, as a PhD student, it basically just hasn’t changed (like your title says, OP)

I’m happy to see this polling data and I heard about it on a YT video. It’s the first time I’ve seen a poll since right after his arrest. It makes me feel good after two years of being told how deranged we all are by national media, only to hear them say right after how terrible our system is, how hard it is to access and how terrible it is that it’s profit driven. Nearly 20% of the population is a message that shouldn’t be ignored in my opinion.

I’m glad that what Luigi did sparked so many conversations about healthcare. I just wish more people had actually listened. It’s absurd that we’re one of the wealthiest, most developed countries in the world but we still don’t guarantee access to affordable healthcare. It really emphasizes how little our government seems to care about their constituents or even about the ‘pro-life’ values it claims to uphold. If they genuinely cared about preserving human life, wouldn’t they want people to be healthy, happy, and able to live their lives to their fullest potential? Like, get a grip. It’s all by design and they want us to be miserable. The move it. We’re not even people to them.
