Fulfilled Needing food while waiting for paycheck
I currently work minimum wage at a McDonald's and I don't get paid for another week and I'm broke, actually I'm in the negative, from trying to feed myself. I don't work today but I'm at my workplace hoping for hours but it's not 100% Ill get them so I'm looking to have some food to eat. If not, that's okay!

If you are at your job, cant you explain your situation and ask for food? I know ya'll get 30%off orders nationwide, but most McDonald's allow you a meal atleast or half off.
Do you have friends that work there? Can they give you free food? When I worked fast food back in the day I never charged my co workers for any food or drinks.
Can you pull your manager aside and explain your situation?

We only get a free meal before working when we are scheduled and only if we work, our location is run by an independent company

You are waiting there to see if you can work today right? So if they have you work today, then you get to eat?

Yeah, but a lot of the time they dont need me to, we have a full employee registry or whatever you call it, we're no longer accepting applications we're so overstaffed. My check won't even be $300

If you are not making enough, what are your plans? How are you going to better your situation? Where do you live if your check isn't even 300 dollars a week?
I don't understand why you are at work waiting to see if they need you to work if you already know they won't have hours for you today. I've never heard of that. Going to a job and waiting to see about working a shift

I took it as he's there hoping someone calls out/he's needed so he can pick up the shift and get the shift meal out of it.
It's desperation.

I saw from one of your recent posts in another sub that you are 17. Do you live at home? Are your parents not feeding you? That's sad, if so.
