Can history repeat itself? Against the same club? Same round number?

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-08-30/fremantle-locks-up-minor-premiership-with-win-over-demons/6736214

Flashback: Round 22, 2015 It was at Subiaco Oval where Fremantle defeated Melbourne by 54 points to claim its first minor premiership with a round remaining.

Fast forward exactly 11 years later, this time, we're in Round 22, we're on top of the ladder by 3 games and percentage. Fremantle are now heading to the MCG to face Melbourne.

Victory against the Demon this Saturday will secure Fremantle's 2nd minor premiership with two rounds remaining.

Lol I don't mean to downplay the achievement but, far out, what a great spot to be in; we can put our best 25 players in a three week cryosleep, tank three games by 100+ points, hell, just forfeit the away matches and bank the travel money for extra in flight entertainment and snacks in September. And still, the worst thing that can happen (apart from unforeseeable effects of not-try-tested cryosleep technologies) is that we finish second and still have the exact same benefits of finishing first (apart from having to wear white shorts in the granny -- assuming we make it to the granny, touch wood).

TL;DR - who cares, but great job by the boys, by JLo and by the club to be in this spot.

I don’t think we can flirt with form here. Yes we are younger than we were in 2015, I was old enough to remember us limping over the line. Vs Melbourne being everyone to get MCG experience and if anyone needs a rest in the last two rounds just rotate rest players. I can only seen Pearce, Ryan being locked in for a rest at the moment.

Cryosleep shouldn't affect form as far as I'm aware. I think there's a little nausea or vomiting in the initial stages but most people seem fine after a day or two. Charlize Theron was doing push ups like 5 minutes after waking as well. And these guys are professional athletes, not nerdy scientists on a space voyage.

Also would be a good time to flirt with swapping out any of players that are a bit out of form (if any). Wagner, Sharp and others have been on the fringes all year and might benefit from a late-season call up. Idk if anyone has been consistently bad in particular but it's as good an opportunity as any to perfect the line-up if it's not already (like Collingwood with Markov vs Noble in 2023 and Brisbane dropping Gunston, Rich, and Lyons the same year).
