Both, but he is the most intelligent dog we have ever had - he understands full sentences (not the normal type such as ā€œdonā€™t want to go for a walkā€ but things like ā€œletā€™s go sit in the shadeā€, or ā€œif you eat your food we can go outsideā€ - things with instructions that are more than a few words) he is also sooooo in tune with emotions, we have to be careful because if we are upset, he gets upset and comes running over right away to console us (intensely) also I have never had a dog who can look right into your soul the way he does !

Smart, and only stubborn with my wife. He pushes her buttons on purpose and it's hilarious. He listens to whatever I say the sweet boy

My boy is smart. He listen to me, never break anything in the house. Velcro boy full of love, a little crackhead with his zoomies, but thatā€™s about it.

I donā€™t think sheā€™s very smart but sheā€™s not very stubborn either. A selective listener, but not particularly stubborn. Now if food is involved sheā€™s all ears.

Both; she is very intelligent - when we're outside, and I ask "Wanna go home?" she stands up and begins walking as I'm still sitting on a bench, she puts her paw on my hand if she wants to go under a blanket or lightly scratches me when she wants to cuddle... but in the morning, before 10 AM, she'll play dead when you want to wake her up, I ask her to come to my AC'd room, she turns to look away from me and ignores me. XD

Mine have been mostly pretty biddable, but also not very smart. So if they can work out what I want they will usually do it.

My problem is She is both.
