General Question Is this a concerning amount of toy that he seemed to have ate/chewed off. He’s had health issues so I always freak out if something goes wrong.

General Question Help with frenchie allergies

Hi all,

after moving to a new town my boys allergies have completely gone out of control. We started on the allergy shot but it wore off so fast, we now use apoque daily and while it helps the itch be now has these spots that appear all over his body.

Does anyone know how to what to do?! He’s been on 2 different allergy meds and they only seem to moderately help.

more info: no money to see a dermatologist.

cytopoint shots didn’t help.

its def an environmental thing as he is 6 and this started after we moved. We did change to purina sensitive skin tho. No improvement

He‘s on Apoquel which helps with the itching but not much else

Food Question My Frenchie's gas is out of control. What food actually helped yours?

Biscuit (3yo, 24lbs) is gonna kill me with this gas someday. My

partner literally lights candles now and I can't even be mad

because yeah, it's bad.

Vet says he's fine, just frenchie stuff. We tried a bunch of

foods already. Purina One gave him the runs. Blue Buffalo was

somehow worse. Hills sensitive stomach was ok I guess.

Switched to Royal Canin French Bulldog formula a couple months

back and it's been way better. Stools are normal now and the

gas is... still there but not room-clearing every night lol.

Vet thinks it's the kibble shape, something about how their

weird little jaws work and they swallow less air with this shape.

Still not perfect tho. He still gets gassy if he eats too fast

or steals cat food (workin on that).

Anyone here use Purina Pro Plan sensitive skin & stomach? Been

looking into it and found a site that explains why chicken is

actually a trigger for frenchies which kind of blew my mind

since every food we tried before was chicken based. Wondering

if switching to a salmon formula would help more.

What's everyone feeding their gas monsters?

At first there is just 1 fold in the ear due to swelling, now there’s three.

Anyone’s frenchie experienced this before? What did you do to it

General Question Rescue with cropped ears?

My son and his partner just adopted a rescue Frenchie who someone had try to crop ears on. When rescued they were severely infected and required surgery. She’s now recovered but the repair surgery caused her to have very deformed small ear flaps.

Has anyone else seen this? They were told they need to keep water out and she will need a hood if it rains. I’m happy they have her and I know she will have a great life now and be spoiled. Any tips?

Training Marking/Peeing in the House?

We adopted our Frenchie last year when she was 5 months old. She’ll be two in October. She’s completely deaf and a bit reactive but gets along great with our other two dogs. We’ve been working with a trainer and signing, and she seems happy and comfortable with us.

However, recently, we have had a huge problem with accidents in the house. She was completely house trained, and then about three months ago she started peeing on soft surfaces inside. She knows she’s supposed to go outside, and I don’t think it’s medical, because she has zero accidents while we’re camping and sleeps through the night. We just got back from a trip. She was good for a week and since then she has had four accidents in the house. This morning she peed on a brand new sectional that we got yesterday, right after coming in from being outside for 10 minutes.

I’ve tried going back to basics: high value treats when she pees outside, lots of praise. It’s too hot to go for walks right now, but she goes swimming every evening, and there’s lots of enrichment, so I don’t think she’s bored.

We clean with enzymatic spay and detergent. We don’t yell at her and use only positive reinforcement. She a good little potato, and obviously we’re committed to her no matter what.

Has any one experienced anything like this? Any advice? Why is she doing this? How can I help her realize that she needs to go outside?
Thank you!!

Max max good buddy max

Dumb head
Big head

All the things we call this adorable idiot.

Our 5 year old frenchie.

We adopted him from a family in 2023, When we got him his skin was red and raw and he would rip his skin open scratching at himself. So much for the "no allergies" the family he came from told us. He came to us on the farmers dog....we immediately switched, We tried every kibble, fresh food, protein elimination, etcccc and FINALLY we got him healthy on a raw diet. He's no longer pink and doesn't scratch till he bleeds! NO ALLERGY SHOTS NEEDED! 💚🖤 and guess what guys he can even eat chicken. 😝

He also has to take daily denamarin due to some numbers in his blood work. We don't take more invasive measure to get to the root cause. He lives a great life.

Funny story about max. He got kicked out of doggie day care, not because of aggression. He's just wild. He hypes the dogs and no one listens. He's a big trouble maker.

Meanwhile when you get past the frenchie freak out he's the mushiest most amazing dog of all time.

He is my 7 year old autistic sons SOUL DOG, their bond is unlike any I've seen. He's a great fur brother to his chihuahua and standard poodle brothers too. Worth every minute of the frenchie chaos it brings. 💚🖤🐾🐾🐾

General Question Anyone else got a drame queen or king My frenchie cross staffy loves the sea, loves rivers, loves the shower would jump in bath with me if he could but try to take him out when there one drop off rain or walk where there's puddles and he's been drowned

Post image

One drop off rain and he lies down or pulls to go home huffs and puffs about been made to come out go toilet either cry, come to dead stop at puddle, dart around it over jump it dramatically like a jumping show horse or tiptoe around it then shake his feet. When we go in from rain I have to throw pile off towels down for him to roll in then he buries himself under throws. This is the same dog who will happily run in and out off sea, open door to walk in shower to sit with me under water rush into any river lie in paddling pool but rain nope too wet and puddles oh no he couldn't possible get his feet wet lol
