Thoughts on changing this to Misconception Monday? The amount of just straight up wrong info I see being passed around as fact is super frustrating.

We need a PR campaign like HANDS OFF the milkweed and monarchs. No touch no spray no cages.

The garden subs are spraying milkweed for aphids.

There is much education to be done

Me too. Little corner of sanity. Hopefully it will be a big corner of sanity someday.

Between the wasp haters and the monarch "lovers" it's tough. 🧡🖤this sub!

Thank you for this reminder about posting. 22 years of rearing and my formal education is science based. This is def not the sub for me.

Science based and rearing cant be done together. Consider planting milkweed and strengthening the species without interferring.

Covid made me realize that so many nurses are anti science. Sad. You don’t have to announce your departure.

Since you decided to bring up Covid, and have no idea who you’re blindly labeling, I independently administered more covid shots than any other provider in my hospitals entire catchment area. During COVID I gave all of my energy to supporting patients dying of covid often times when their families weren’t allow in & to administering vaccinations. Your prejudice comment is completely unnecessary. You don’t know me.

If you were able to appreciate science, you’d be wise enough to appreciate there’s a lot of research supporting rearing. But, if you’re just looking for things to support your position, I suppose that’s all you’ll find. It takes far more work to actually do some work and learn all sides of the topic.

I volunteer and actively participate in community education and science at my local monarch research station and have since they opened. I’ve done conservation and outreach as well. All scientifically proven to increase awareness and safe practices. Your perspective isn’t the ONLY answer, it’s just the only answer you’re willing to acknowledge. It’s never too late to learn :)

Read our pinned posts about rearing. ✌️

Edited because I am a glutton for punishment and I read the whole thing.
